in 1980, I worked in a restaurent called Triangle Diner, cross the street from Grossingers. exit Route 17 on right, at the stop sign, left to Liberty, right trun was Ferndale, Holiday Inn was on right side. I lived few hundred feet on a pongero? on left. after left turn, right side was super market, a Shell gas station T road , Triangle Diner was on left where I worked. Sulliven county. Winter always cold, the coldest day I saw was 24 minus. time flies, I left there in 10/1982 to New Orleans, louisiana... de Miami, fl

I lived on 100 South Main Street. Over the supermarket, but the building is torn down now. Mr. Saks was our Landlord. Went to Pre-K in the Church across the street and then to Liberty school. There use to be a Woolworth on the Street and Singers Diner, Our family moved to Middletown NY when I entered the second grade where I remained until I graduated High School. So many warm memories.

Interesting how there are a ton of somewhat larger buildings but they are placed awkwardly in a way that a successful city wouldn’t be composed

I used to love Monticello's penny arcade. Pin ball, Skee-Ball (pre-video games) and tickets you could turn in for dumb prizes. I still have one of their giant plastic combs.

I miss liberty. I worked in a summer camp from 86-92 on the hill . Mccabes, O'Connors aka the pursuit of happiness. Italian delight can go against any pizzeria in the boroughs. And I'm from Brooklyn.

It used to be a great place to live and to work! They killed it completely there. I grew up there and all the city people moved in with their money, Unreal i left there 25 years ago and never looked back. When Mayor Bonnie died that was it and they said when he died it would become another Rockland county and it did. Got family there still. We used to know he Harriman kids go ride 4 wheels there and the family got kicked out years ago there then the old mansion burned down. We used to fish there as well. Now you got walmart target and so on. No more mountain charm left. just another suburb of NYC now.

back in 1979, a very close family member driving a car got lost coming back from Yankee Stadium. We wound up here, Newton, New Jersey. Way out of our way from Philly. When we got here, I was ready to leave my close family member on the curb there. I'll never forget all that driving. If i didn't insist on stopping an asking for directions, we would of hit the Canadian border!
