I have a question about your bracelets. Are they just clay or is there a metal or wood blank inside?
@CraftyKatsCorner8 ай бұрын
I'm sorry, I didn't see your question until just now. They are solid clay. I make the outside of the bracelet using a metal blank, but once baked, I pop that off, and add a textured inside piece and bake it all again. They are typically very strong and relatively flexible!

🥰 thank you so much! 😁 it was actually the result of a baking accident. I had been trying to make one of those draping dragon necklaces, where the body of the dragon is very snake-like and hangs around the neck. Unfortunately, during baking, my dragon broke, but I had been so happy with the way his head turned out that I definitely didn't want to just throw it all away. So here he is! 😅

Well..definitely not the tie dye effect. Once the clay is together and into a block how do you determine which side to lay it on and flatten to reduce? Then...how many inches long should it be? Do I then cut in half, mirror and reduce again? I appreciate your time and patience with me! Thank you

Hello. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent. I appreciate your time as well! By chance do you have the directions printed somewhere? In addition to a brain injury 5 years ago ,I have vertigo. After almost two full days rewinding and playing the rainbow one trying to understand it I came to this one for help...I have muted the music to focus...was all excited to try and read these directions in the beginning...even though I have to keep rewinding because it's too fas for me.. i was so grateful for the written directions on the top right hand corner of my screen.. ..until I finally allowed the moving letters to break my concentration and notice that the moving letters on and off the screen are THE DIRECTIONS!!! I thought this was all a bad joke! I started attempting to learn polymer clay about 10 months ago taking out books from the library...after almost 3 months I thought I knew enough to start... and watch KZbin video's. Although it is a good challenge im very grateful for books.lol I have been trying so hard and finally got down a rainbow skinner blend...I have spent many month's searching for a rainbow/ tie dye cane. Monday as I realized that I have seen pretty much watched every tutorial on KZbin and Google. (I'm not able to afford to purchase tutorials on Etsy)I actually FINALLY came across your tutorial searching for IKAT canes!!! Which I then found the rainbow Tie Dye. After 3 full days trying to understand how to reduce/stretch and mirror and going through a couple pounds of clay ( lol) I decided to come back to this one hoping that it would help me figure that part and the initial destroying ( lol) which way to lay the cane so my Diagonal is vertical to end up with a tye dye effect. Taking the initial approach is now where I'm stuck lol
@CraftyKatsCorner Жыл бұрын
Hello! Oh my! I'm so sorry about it seeming like a terrible joke. I definitely didn't intend that. I don't have just plain written instructions right now, and honestly, this and my other tie dye tutorial are the last things I actually did with clay.... and that was a couple of years ago. I am seriously hoping to get back to my clay this year, and I may be able to work up a written tutorial sometime soon, 😅 of course, I'll have to watch my tutorial to remind myself of the steps! If I do get that done, I will let you know here in our comments!

Looks great!!! How did you get the two different paradox canes? Did you create two and mix them up to create one cane with different colour combos?
@CraftyKatsCorner2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! 💗 actually the first dish is a paradox cane and the second dish was a simple monochromatic kaleidoscope cane I had made years prior. Unless you mean just on the first dish, I know when I flipped it over to the unshined side, it looked very different! It's still only the one paradox cane, just one side is super shiny and the other side is pretty dull. Although you've given me a pretty nifty idea of making a dish but have it be a different version of the same cane on the other side! 🤔 thank you again!! 😁
@samplover10332 жыл бұрын
@@CraftyKatsCorner Thank you. I'm not a good explainer lol. But what I meant is, there are red/yellow plus blue/yellow and a red/blue in the paradox. I've only ever seen monochromatic ie. 2 colour paradox canes. So you made 3 sections for the cane but each one with two colours? Did you keep it as a triangle or formed into hexagon after? It just looks like it would be so difficult to get on the bowl so perfectly as you did.
@CraftyKatsCorner2 жыл бұрын
Oh okay!! I gotcha now! I did a rainbow blend and then shaped that into the triangle to cut and make into the paradox pieces! Actually the colors are all in each component of the cane, but the way they come together from the slices makes it appear that they are only those colors here and the other colors there! Lol I'm obviously not too great at explaining things myself, but I hope I got it there! 😅
@samplover10332 жыл бұрын
@@CraftyKatsCorner Still, amazing. Thank you for the prompt replies. I haven't tried a paradox, so I think I will try the rainbow blend
