@martinchabre69844 күн бұрын
I think it should be the opposite : When you move the center of mass backward, the kart should have more tendency to oversteer right???

How often do the galaxy need rebuilds? Leaning towards a rotax for less regular rebuilds than the x30 but if the galaxy is comparable to the rotax for longevity it may be a better option for me.

Is it correct that the newer dd2's have slightly different gearing than the older ones or can you actually use 20 year old gearing on a brand new dd2?
@jkim62009 күн бұрын
For NGKs. Different manufacturers vuse different numbering systems. ND uses a similar gradient but different highs and lows.

Check your needle jet and the float level. they can be a real mission to get going. fresh engines seem to start the best. how old if is the piston ?

Great video, I hope you read the comments - I just tried rebuilding my master cylinder. But when pushing down, the second seal was cut when I pushed the piston down… I don’t see you doing anything special to avoid this, more than putting brake fluid in the cylinder and on the piston to lubricate. I did too, but it didn’t help 😢

maybe you have a slight burr or sharp edge. get some 800 or 1000 grit emery paper or scotch brite even, and rub the sharp edge off. then use some rubber grease to ease it into position with out damage

Hi Derek, I thank you for the exceptional content you share. It is quite intriguing the modifications you make to this cart, as well as getting your own curves. I would like to request your assistance for some guidance on the use of Dyno Max200, we have a Land & sea water dynamometer, but have not managed to use it because we don't understand how it works. could you please assist us on this?

Clould you show how to mount this seat with the fast adjusters? I bought and ruined both trying to install them. You cant use a marker to mark the holes on the bottom of the seat and you cant see though it. My seat looked like swiss cheese and I ended up drilling from the top, unfortunately the bit went into thr fast adjuster which is super soft aluminum and it immediately ruined the threads.

I'm watching videos trying to demystify seat placement and this awesome video seems to offer a different perspective. I'm about to install a new seat into my very first kart (Arrow X5). Being 97kg in the buff and 6'3", am I right to say "forget about weight distribution and position the seat as far back as needed to fit in the kart" then add lead to fix the weight distribution? I'd rather avoid having to spend another $400 for the pedal extension kit if I can. Thanks for all the great content.
@PowerRepublicАй бұрын
for you height I would reckon you should save some extra and lash out on the foot extension. it will be more comfortable and help with weight distribution IMO
@shanevaughan7809Ай бұрын
@@PowerRepublic thanks, I appreciate your advice. I installed the seat today using your technique and along with readjusting the pedals and heel rest, it feels ok to at least get started but I'll keep the extension kit in mind as my skills improve to the point of needing to focus on balance and inside wheel lift.
