Thank you very much for the great video, very well explained with good advice as always. I would like to know if it is serious to have put the conical part of the sleave, the one that is towards the outside, first, when I entered the sleave. It was easier to enter like that, but I was told that this part went towards the outside of the drum. I find that logically it should be as I installed it, because this way, it fits the oring which is bottom, when installing the drum. Thank you for enlightening me SVP.

I've watched so many of your videos trying to learn how to help my son get faster with proper setup. However, I have yet to see a video for Cadet Karts. And this is the first video I've seen for a Parolin. I was a member of your KZbin for about a year but I did not renew as there was no Cadet kart content. Though the Lambda sensor video was so helpful a d gave my son a big advantage at our track. Now that my son is always a podium contender, other dad's have installed the Lambda and are trying to learn how to understand it. So thanks for that Lambda video.

What is the part called that goes in the back of the master brake cylinder called that balances the brakes can't find them online
Will you do a video on problem tuning a KA100???? I removed the sub assembly & start it with a external starter motor. After 20 or so good hot fast laps the cylinder goes rich, fouls the plug & goes to 1/2 power.

Great explaining! Cheers! I read you also have to consider having a 50/50 left/right distribution but you haven't tailles about it
@PowerRepublic3 күн бұрын
thanks for watching, yes that's correct, they should be approx 50/50 across the kart

I just went to follow these tips - and I found out by accident that "Orange Agent" cleaner does a really good quick job as opposed to an overnight caustic soda bath. That was only for the stinger cap end tho - it would need a lot of it for a full exhaust.

Thanks for these very helpful videos, Derek. What I am missing in the '101' series would be something like *"KARTING BASICS 101: How to get your go-kart ready on race day'*. Basically a step-by-step of what to do after I get my kart off the trailer or out of the garage, before heading out on track: putting fuel in, checking the most important nuts and bolts, checking/correcting tire pressure, maybe oiling the chain (if applicable), etc. I'm sure that would help a lot of beginners and keep them safe.

do i have to install the spacers on both sides to get the 1400mm
@SomeSaltySoviet10 күн бұрын
Yes, you want to have an even distance outside the outermost bearing-cassette on both sides, otherwise you'll make the kart unpredicatable, and it will likely handle poorly.

That outside clutch washer that's right behind the nut, it has a bevel as well like the internal one. The overhaul manual says that goes to the outside (towards the nut) while everyone I talk to says the bevel goes to the inside (towards the clutch drum and really the bearing there) so which is right? I would swear that when we get these back from our builders the bevel side is outside under the nut.

Thank you so much again, as a dad and a lad from the UK these videos are amazing for someone like me who is just starting out as a mechanic and trying to set my 9 year old sons kart up. This gear ratio set ups explanation for different track types is exactly what I was looking for someone to explain to me so I can understand it and set it up for my son. Thx again.

Hi Jason from the UK here, thx for all you informative videos they are really helping me to be a mechanic for my 9 year old Sons first kart I just purchased him. I'm basically a dad and lad and the kart I got him is a iame water swift. When I was watching this video I noticed at the beginning there was 1 spacer and 2 gaskets laid out on the table that obviously fit between the engine and the restricted manifold but when you were fitting the manifold on you only placed 1 spacer and then 1 gasket on. Did you just leave the original gasket on from the old manifold on the engine as it was OK or did you change it and it was missed out on the video? Sorry if this seems like a daft question I'm just trying to make sure I get everything right.

Lovely old video, thanks! For the junior class, can an old and very fast non Evo from years ago be competitive against newer Evo engines? This older generation engine will have she new Evo loom, junior ECU and exhaust system, so it’s upgraded to current spec ancillaries. Thanks in anticipation of your advice!
