The whole reason as to why she goes "I'll die without you" Is because she feeds off the souls of the kids she lures in And because the house owner (Wybie's Grandma) stopped allowing in kids after buying the house to stop her from taking them Meaning that she has been starving for a good few years, so it makes sense as to why she sounded so begging for Coraline to stay. Because she was literally STARVING TO DEATH!

That's not really the final battle in the Coraline movie. The real final battle is with Coraline and Wybie fighting the Beldam's right hand while hiding the key to her world near an old well.
