It's important to note that this video was made prior to Gift partnering with AmiAmi which made getting fumos in the west much easier and cheaper.

I have been trying to contact the people who made this wonderful film (most old friends of mine from the San Francisco Film Workers Union) to let them know there is a reprisal of it on KZbin, but so far no luck.

Thank you so much for posting this wonderful film. I was friends with the Cine Manifest people (who made the film) in San Francisco in the '60s-'70s. Before Cine Manifest, we started a film union there, the San Francisco Film Workers Union (FWU), which later became a NABET chapter. Most of the people who worked on Nothern Lights went on to become important filmmakers. I'm sure that any of them that are still alive will be delighted that their film is available on KZbin.

Wanted to come back to this video because honestly it was so helpful in getting me into Fumos. Now that I've started making my own Fumo videos, I hope I can make something that helps someone years later like you have. Even thought this video is 4 years old now, thank you for making this. Btw I will say the bit at the end about making your own helped me so much.

Thanks for posting this! My dad Robert Behling was the star of this film, and I had a bit part in the breakfast scene starting at 10:59 . I was 17. Most of the film was shot in North Dakota, but many of the interior shots were filmed in San Francisco. ❤

If you want an untanned cirno instead, you can put the tan cirno in front of the a/c vent for a few hours. Or if you want it directly from the ice, you can put the ice in liquid nitrogen and it'll cirno-ify instantly.

Saw this on PBS, probably in the early 80's. Loved it (I have degrees in political science and history, go figure). Also my wife's grandmother homesteaded in South Dakota around 1900. I happened to think of this and found to my delight it was on YT. Thank you very much for posting this.
