I saw KZbin videos showing the 2024 Lyriq's AR HUD and was really looking forward to this feature. Then after spending nearly $80,000 on a Lyriq I find out GM opt'ed not to add the HUD hardware... dirty trick!

I'm extremely excited and ready to get my Aptera! The dream is fast becoming a reality. While much of the video/images in this youtube vid is 'older' shots of some older design intentions, ther are shots in it of newer stuff like the climate control 'handler'. But the descriptive verbiage is a darned good summary of the development path that the company has taken. Still emphasizing the TPM for vehicle assembly, this is very demonstrative of the fact that build efficiency is still a top level intention.

I own and drive a three wheel "autocycle" I treat it as a second car and take almost all of my local trips with it. The unspoked weakness is having one wheel in the back. This significantly reduces load carrying capacity. Regular four wheel EV's are improving and becoming less expensive, thus reducing the cost advantages of trikes.

Production milestones? They are still making prototypes and telling people they will start production next year, they have been saying that since 2006, when they first tried this. They got one chasis for a prototype, only closeup photos shown, cant actually see the whole chasis.

Their promise of 40 miles of range by the sun is not possible as its based on the lab testing output of the maxeon cells, they wont put out as much in real application for many many reasons. So if the 40 miles is not possible, it means the rest of the data is most likely also not realistic. Basically it wont live up to the hype and its extremely unlikely they will ever get to the point of manufacturing anyhow. They will however take your money without hesitation.

Yes it is. When they can prove it does what they claim it does and take money for, they can show they are not scamming people. At present, they have five fake prototypes that can't do anything like the 102mph top speed; the 250 to 1,000 mile ranges; passing a real Moose test; taking seven times the weight of an average car; not overheat; 0-60mph in under 4 seconds, and many more snake oil claims. This is on top of not providing IWMs; 3-wheel drive; torque vectoring, and many other things they originally took money for.

Nope. Nothing "unique" or innovative about Aptera's solar panels. In fact, Aptera is way, way behind. Hans Gochermann developed the "contoured solar generator" (multi-axis curved solar panels) and obtained a patent in 1988. Also, solar racing vehicle teams from all over the world have been designing/making/using considerably better (more efficient) adaptable solar controllers for decades.

They weren't at concours d'elegance, they were in the shopping district parked out the front of a shop, the car show was about 2km away, they played no part in it. The Aptera's price will go up. It should have gone up already on the Aptera website, but is hasn't in spite of Aptera's own costings showing that they won't make any money on the Launch Edition if they charge what the website says it will cost. I suspect that Aptera is keeping the price low so that they continue to get lots of reservations, as this looks good for investors.

Keep in mind three in-hub motors have more parts than one motor driving two wheels. I do want in-hub motors but can live with this motor.

They should be investigated for fraudulent claims to get investors money.

Its not a new motor and its not made by them. Its in 10 other evs. Thats not saying its a good or bad motor.

The Continental motor they chose is not very efficient. An ancient deign. And Continental now gets rid of all business except tires. So at the time Aptera tries to build their first roadworthy protoype, the Continental motor will not be available anymore.
