This is a total disaster. Miscast, and trying to make "The Music Man" into a "diverse" musical when it's set in 1912 rural Iowa. Totally unwatchable. Meredith Willson is turning over in his grave.

Deadest version of this song I've ever heard. The original with Robert Preston, Shirley Jones and Buddy Hackett didn't require a remake. But they did anyway. And the results are disappointing.

One of the better moments in that dismal MUSIC MAN production. It's almost as good as the movie SHIPOOPI. I wonder why Meredith Willson called it shi-POOP-i? Good choreography and mass formations.

Off topic but I played Donner in 2013 in Eight Reindeer Monologues and reprised it on my channel. Takes a certain kind of expressive soul to want to perform. 🤔

Re: common side effects: all but the Family Guy reference. I'm indifferent to Family Guy but I love The Music Man. Shipoopi is the best part! I don't dance, but I sing along. I even wrote a parody: "I'm loopy I'm loopy I'm loopy, my brain is full of fog! I'm loopy I'm loopy I'm loopy I'm as sick as a dog" to sing when I have a migraine.
