I have the marin nicasio 2022, the micro shift dérailleur is not working great. How could I upgrade to something better that would suit my cassette ?

@@martinz6379 unfortunately the microshift rear derailleur will only work properly with a microshift shifter. Take the bike to a shop and get them to diagnose the issue with the derailleur. In my experience if the derailleur hanger is aligned correctly and there is no damage to the derailleur itself, it should work flawlessly

same problem here, damaged 2 tubes and dented the rim trying to install. Never buying maxxis ever again.

Same here, exact same tire, exact same issue. I went through 3 tubes trying to get it on. Same with the 29" version too. 😢

Didn't realise they were built in Wales. I am looking at one for my 7 year old but not sure I can justify the pricetag 🐸

Glad I saw this. I had the same problem with the same tire but the 29" version on a Raceface rim. I really struggled to get it to seat as tubeless (even with a compressor) but the bead was so tight it couldn't make it out to the rim-hook. I then put in a tube, which made it even more difficult to get the tire on but I got it after heavy use of tire levers. My guess is it is a quality control issue. I won't use these tires again. This would be a nightmare on the trail.

Thank goodness you had a problem with a 29 inch tire. I bought a Maxxis tire and can’t get it on for the life of me even with tire irons. It’s so tight I feel like I’m going to damage the rim. I’m not the most avid cyclist, but I thought I knew how to change a tire.

Got a cheap random bike for £15 from eBay my 6 year old is fine with it and keeps up with his mates on their expensive frog bikes.

Please let everyone know: Why can you not convert a road bike, or hybrid to a pseudo gravel bike, by simply adding a drop bar, & drop bar shifter/brake set up? I am told adding these to an old Trek FX 7.3 will not work, because road bike shifters are "not compatible" to my hybrid gear set up.

In my opinion, a bike with tyres up to 33mm and big knobs is a cyclo cross (or cross country bike). A gravel bike has to be at least 35mm tyres up to say 45mm. So a gravel bike with say 40mm won't sink that deep and is a much more comfortable on bumpy terrain

I love it, but why couldn't it be available in the same colour as the San Quentin one? The silver on the San Quentin one is the better looking colour, but its on the lowest spec bike. I wanted this bike, but i really don't like the colour. They should have offered the choice of all three colours on all three bikes.

I had the choice between canyon stoic 3 and this baby here. Just ordered the SQ2, even though I found the optic, and the dropper post, and the derailer of the stoic 3 better. Both sold for 1199eur, but the sq2 comes in a week while I'd have to wait for the stoic until the end of August.

Did you get one? I’m 5’10 and been reading all the comments on KZbin for this bike. The website says 5’8 - 5’11 fits a L. And 5’11 - 6’ + for XL. I’ve read reviews with guy who said he was 5 foot 10 and felt a little cramped because it has 175mm long crank arms and he had to buy shorter ones in the 160ish mm to feel comfy when pedaling. I wonder how much bigger the xl feels

@@JoshuaDomoslai yes, I took the L frame with 170 cranks and it’s perfect to me. Later my son bought San Quentin 1 in XL size, but he is 186 cm high. I tried his frame and it’s too big for my height.
