It was a super fun project to work on (not without hiccups, like my computer eating all the video files VERY close to the end and me nearly having a coronary because of it) but I'm pleased with how it turned out and that folks liked it. 4 years later, it still makes me HAPPY 😁

My sweet mother! The memories. I see the faces and recognize so many of them tho names I have lost to time. I keep stopping the video to see if maybe I have been caught in the background. @9:42 I remember helping put those walls up! @12:16 I rode that ship at events at Whidbey Island and at the Montlake Cut in Madrone next to the Husky's Stadium. My first years in the SCA were during the rebellion. I know why true An Tirians would rather shout Hurrah than Huzzah. And I know, The Peasants are revolting! As anyone who has stood downwind of them knows!

My name is James BlackHawk, Brother of Melody Bluerose of the Moon's Shadow, Keeper of the Gold Key for Madrone. Member in good standing of House Andpersand. And one of the many nephews or nieces to Uncle Ziffy. I think I was all of 13 for this event. I remember running thru the woods with the other younglings and helping with being a Marshal, Herald and Constab. This was a year and a half after my first event and I since had become a Page at the College of Pages, had submitted my own device and learned many of the skills of the SCA. (Something I do not think would happen today) I was even one of the Pages serving the tables at the following Coronation. My first event being the infamous (for me at least) May Coronet of 1980. I still remember closing court of that event to this day as the Crowned Prince Edward's Court announced the eruption of Mt St Helens and not missing a beat, Abdul the Half Crazed immediately turned to me and said "I didn't think the Crown had that authority!"

Maybe you might know, are temple rings used by finnish vikingr? I quite like the finnish peplos dress but also like the temple rings...And, are veils worn only by married women?

We had to leave before evening Court, but my daughter and I had a blast today at out first SCA Event!!!
