Given the public release of Telemac is formulated in cartesian coordinates, were the governing equations reformulated in spherical coordinates to perform this simulation?

With all these whales washing up on the East Coast of the USA has anyone done a study of the magnetic fields the power cables from the turbines are producing? I would think this would be even worse for the floating turbines as more of the cables are above the ocean floor if not all of it. I find it hard to believe acoustic noise as some are saying are causing the whales to become disoriented.

Isn't corrosion going to be a difficulty with these? Is there a sacrifice metal being used? What are the benefits of an ocean turbine compared to a cheaper land one? Cheers! Really well made video!

Someone on another KZbin video about the tides asked why the sand isn't pulled by the Moon's gravity? Have you ever considered that it might be earth tides increasing due to a change in gravity at the Earth's core? I believe the oceans are pushed from underneath. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_tide

@johnnytheprick which one u prick the wave reached 40m in some places in japan because of the bathymetry of the coast and most of the ather places have breakwaters so the wave just looks like a rapidly flowing rising water

I wonder how they managed to create a wave like that? The basin is massive, which means we have to displace a lot of water in order to recreate a wave exactly like a Tsunami 🌊! I imagine they would have used a mechanical device that would have pushed the whole depth of the water. This means that the wave would be travelling through the whole depth of the water, rather than on the surface. The mechanical divide would have pushed the water, moving across a large distance, alone the length of the basin, when pushing. This creates a very LONG wave so that when it reaches the shore it does not stop, and the water keeps rising until it has burst the sea wall and completely submerges the land. Also, they must have designed the basin, so that it is deep on one end and GRADUALLY becomes shallower, until it reaches the coast. This is because the wave 🌊 moves through the ENTIRE DEPTH of the water, and as the water becomes shallower, the seabed gradually moves upwards, which causes the wave 🌊 to move upwards. This means that as the wave 🌊 is pushed up by the increasingly shallower waters, it pushes up the sea level with it, causing it to rise and therefore flood/submerge the coast.
