If the pedestrians were walking long distance, how did spectators spectate? Did they follow on horses, with binoculars? Or did they only watch when the guys walked in a circle, and just read about it the rest of the time?

I was a student of Rod Tolley back in 2000 at Staffs Uni in England. He is a truly inspirational man and inspired me. After graduating in 2001, I decided to cycle from England to Singapore via Siberia and Mongolia, and succeeded. I learned a lot. Not only from his lectures, but also from my year-long journey of 22,000 kms. Keep up spreading the message, Rod, even if it falls on deaf ears...

I remember reading, some time ago, that if you want to lose weight and feel better, park your car about a mile from your work place. If you haven't been doing a lot of walking, my suggestion is that you park the car just a few blocks from your work place and every week, or less, increase that distance. If you work from home, a break of 15 minutes in the morning and another one in the afternoon will help you with your concentration as you work. I am not a doctor not any sort of therapist. I make these suggestions based on what I have read and done in my own life. Always talk with your doctor before starting any new exercise. President Truman used to walk every morning and his secret service detail had a difficult time keeping up with him at first.

I joined a group on FB 2 months ago. First month being April we had to walk 30 minutes a day. May we added 8 glasses of water a day. That was tough for me but now I do it. June we’re tossing around ideas. Walk and keep track of our miles/ km and see if we can walk across our country. That’s not a for certain goal at this time

You can be skinny and have high stress levels and have high blood pressure. I’m young and thin and had a stroke due to an AVM that ruptured in my brain. I ate very healthy and exercised daily. AVM is out of my control. Something you are born with.
