I took drum lessons from a drummer who learned from Gary Chester. My teacher was HUGE on Tommy Igoe and his system. It was an integral part of his weekly lessons. Too bad COVID closed his studio.

Thanks . Incredible course . I’ll do my best to finish. Bit of an advantage as done GH FALT for a few years but will review the sections. Notation analysis is amazing though mine is still not good . Tracks piano is beautiful.

Thanks for this amazing challenge. As I’m rehearsing & playing regularly & also been travelling I won’t be able to do every days work every day - lifetime aside . But will finish . Thanks 🙏

“ The Grid “ love it . I’m guessing this accent & taps approach is used in. Drumcorp ( & everything ) - seem it applied to triplets and rudiments . Getting it happening now . 🙏 🙏

Great challenge enjoying this greatly, especially using Tommy’s incredible & at the time of release revolutionary educational materials . Unfortunately I have interstate duties to support my dear elderly mother . But like many we’re very grateful this is this up . Can’t wait to get back . I will get there though though it’s not a competition- it’s a challenge ❤

Thks . Great tempo . Great challenge . By doing the Lifetime more regularly a day it’s helped than doing a long session only once . Just saying everyone is different I guess . Thanks .

Thanks . Interesting how the swing inference can change . Great challenge. Great actually imo the best educational products ever on foundation. And I’m done a few . Thanks Tommy .

Thanks . Groove 17 is so great . The swing , high hat & foot action . Interesting I am finding doing more lifetimes rather than a monster morning one very helpful. Getting more used to just jumping into the higher tempos too . Thanks Tommy .

Thanks . Though I feel half dead coz of rehearsals etc . Played the shuffle ( s ) great chart . Very cool . Had to practice too without the ostinato to just get it tight & snappy . Bit of a whip but not stupid . Thks .

Thanks . Great challenge, great educational materials . Doing a few lifetimes a day has been helpful as I think I was doing so much in the morning I was getting a bit stiff . Not pain . Strangely I’ll be playing old schooling Blakey & other shuffles tonight so this is timely. Still working on the more difficult jazz comping motifs as the fast ones with bass drum doubles I have subsume at the very fast tempos eg jazz ramp top end . Day 45 wooh. . Thanks Tommy . I’m

Great . The Jazz grooves are so interesting to play & the comping motifs especially the one with the bass drum have really helped . I don’t think my problem is co - ordination as much as reading & knowing the motifs backwards , hence changing from 1 to another I can still make a mistake. Thanks again . My facility with the Lifetime is improving to . I will do one & if eg the parradiddle section I might not get all the various accents or no accents spot on . Going back to Chk patterns, really helps .

Great challenge. Amazing educational Thanks 20 fast. . I have found the motifs are getting easier to do -,the more comfortable I am with them . I’m still review the others to get the feel & technique or eg a double bass hit ( sorry for pun ) . I find singing & repeating phases useful ie simple buzx to kick with answering phase in kick or moving the snare off beat & or triple or triple partial . Same foot . Slow to fast . My birthday yesterday & still recovering but every day every single day .
@jeffreywegener884110 ай бұрын
Thanks . Though I can do the comping motifs without pulling it apart with the notation- doing the notation has been valuable to subsume all the patterns . Having a great time with them & of course making up my own .

Thanks . For some utterly bizarre reason I am loving this section & getting there okay . Maybe because I worked on the Lifetime program & love jazz . Thanks Tommy .
@jeffreywegener884110 ай бұрын
The Jazz motifs have been a game changer for me . I could comp a bit but moving the bass drum to the off beat , the triplet partials , & phrases like the cools buzzes , has moved everything forward in days 22 fast the last is my fav , 1/8 triplet partials to 1/4 note triplets etc . Nice Okay I will notate just because my notation is so bad . Lifetime 2 done . One prior to gig tonight.

Great course . Great educational products . Day 41 . The comping section in Groove Essentials is so great , moving the snare & bass drum with the motifs has been addictive. 🙏
