Lug to lug - preach brother!

Re Lorus - it should be noted that Seiko do not repair these watches. They will only issue a discount voucher for a replacement, but even then it's only valid in their exclusive boutique with base price at RRP.

Lug to lug is a pretty good indicator but also pay attention to where the lug turn down at the ends or if it's a very flat case. For example, I can wear watches which have a lug to lug of up to 49.5mm as long as the lugs turn down at the ends. I have flat cases with a lug to lug of 46mm and they don't feel right on my wrist (apologies if this was mentioned in the vid). Secondly the size of the case vs size of the dial is important as I can wear Seiko Turtles and Willards with ease even though the dial is 42mm+ because of the large bezels but have reasonable lug to lug due to cushion case back. A 42mm watch with a vey thin bezel looks like a dinner plate on my wrist.

If you live in the uk and go shopping a watch with Iceland on it would not look good. (Do they sell them in the shop?)

Some advice I would give: Watches sitting taller will have a higher force applied to your wrist as it moves around, making you wear it tighter, so if you like wearing your watches loose, stay away from tall top heavt watches. White dial watches tend to look bigger than they accualy are. If you often cut it close on time in your everyday commute and don't want to set your watch everyday, stay away from mechanical seiko movements (4r, 6r), to avoid being late to classes/work. You won't end up wearing a watch you don't find comfortable, no matter how cool it looks.

Got 10+ watches in size from a 33mm Tissot to a 42mm Citizen Promaster, all fit me perfectly, as you say, lug to lug is the most important. Only watch I don't wear much anymore because of size is a 41~42mm tissot chronograph. I find it quickly look like a dinner plate because the dial is large and it does not sit as nicely because its more 2 dimentional in the case shape.

My hot tip is: dont trust ANYONE! For my wedding I ordered a Black Bay 58 at rabat Barcelona. Picked up the watch and didn't wear it for 1 month because it was for my wedding. Turns out it was the black bay, didn't wear it and contacted them right away. Everyone that I talked to admitted there was a mistake on their end but the nepobaby of a "boss" just refused to correct the error. God that guy made my piss boil of anger. Just gave up so I didn't had to see his retarded face agen.

Funnily enough, MaMaCoo's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. You have a yacht and a beach house in Tuscany, of course that replica is real. There isn't a millionaire out there going around with a jeweller's loupe to scrutinize their acquaintance's watch. They'll just go "Oh is that a Patek? Nice, I should really get my hands on one of those, they look great."

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

Watch experiences are so individual, so keep watch enthusiasm at arm's length. And run away from anyone talking "consensus," because they have no right to say so. This is especially true when a sense of peer pressure and FOMO are being generated by the content creator. For example, the video presenter who waxes breathlessly about the merits and beauty of the watch that they're presenting. Meanwhile, behind the curtains, they're not actually owning and committing themselves to those watches; They're a salesperson (not all salespersons wear a badge), and a good salesperson can talk sweetly and seductively about the products that they're selling. But even if they're honest and not selling anything, don't just buy something because of the perception on social media and streaming platforms. Hype is real, whether it comes from people or algorithms. Your mileage will vary.

That space ranger looks really nice. Too bad for the quartz movement 😢. Also maybe a nice video idea would be to look at old catalogues. Found old catalogues of Seiko online going back to the 1960s and up to the 1990s. Many it's fun to go true it and give your opinion about their offerings.

I would give a mention to the Seiko Style 60’s presage model with gold indexes and hands. I keep eyeing that one but haven’t pulled the trigger.

Yema has a couple different watches I’m really interested in (not this one), like the Superman on the scales bracelet. But I have heard so many egregious horror stories about QC issues and then poor customer service, that I don’t think I’m brave enough to buy one.

Just bought a Marlowe Coniston K4. This is a very nice watch. Not expensive and a pleasure on the wrist. As it is a Scottish Watch Company it's a Wee Brand.

I love the look of this watch. I’m a big fan of the 1970s aesthetic. The colour is great. For me the look of the bracelet is part and parcel of the watch and it’s look so changing it is not an option for me. From my own experience, how a watch wears always dictates whether I keep a watch or not. I’ve owned watches that I love the look of but wear horribly…they are always rehomed. Btw… I love Turkish food!

I would sell it. It depends on if bracelet becomes more cooperative with time, but at cureent state there is no point. It is uncomfortabl, end of story

I pulled the trigger on the superman 500 gmt and absolutely love it. I have it on the scales bracelet and has the same issue of being stiff and it makes the lug to lug appear bigger. Also the clasp is pants for a watch that cost £600 excluding import tax.

I’ve always thought my SARB035 would look awesome with a polar-white watch dial instead of the “cream” colored dial.

Like the look of it i' get a retro vibe sort of late 70's Doxa 'ish , like you say does seem to wear longer than its dimensions suggest but besides the odd bezel choice the rest i could live with + at least seeing another in the wild would be rather remote & no harm having something a little left field in the collection .
