I grew up in thr ohio valley which are the appalachian foothills.ive been witness to many strange things there. I am very familiar with most of these legends. My grandfather was born in the late 1800s.i heard these stories many times. A cat wampus , panther and mountain lion are all the same creature. There are several other of these stories i could give you the true legends of.i am glad that you are telling these legends. But, do yourself a great favor and truly reseach these stories before you tell them. If your going to do it at least do it right. I dont mean this to criticize you. Im trying to bring you truth and facts to your stories.

We went to bed hungry at times and dad had 3 large gardens, a hog lot with 30 hogs and more chickens than we could count. If dad and mom hadn't smoked cigarettes, dad bought beer and liquor and he gambled and fought roosters...and those were a waste of money. But you, me Jm÷s and Jessie made sure our kids didn't go hungry. This was a good video brother.

Seems like this is all I do now days. Get old farms and houses repaired and back up running. I just subscribed a few videos back so I do not even know what state your in @Mountainman. Enter me. Maybe. I guess I could give the chicken to someone that wants them and can pick them up, if I can't. Truth be told, I think it would be fun, just to stop buy and say howdy. shtf is going to mean COMBAT, guys, Dont kid yourself about that. You've got to hide and remain un-noticed. You can't do that without a scatter-buried source of food and you certainly can't do it with noisy guns. Small game is not worth hunting, cause such critters have no fat. The only small, fat critters are possums, coons, beaver, and woodchucks. squirrels, nearly all birds but waterfowl, rabbits dont cut the mustard. You can't choke down enough lean meat or fish to keep yourself alive. Once you've depleted your body fat, you MUST have fat-intake. There's a REASON why the Innuit stayed on the sea coasts. They HAD to harvest seals, narhals, whales and walruses. Natives in other parts of N america had plant crops to help out, specifially acorns, and more fatty fish, such as catfish. Hogs and black bear are fatty, most of the year. You can and should try to bait in and snare such animals to 300 lbs of drag-logs. Keep your (silenced) autorifle at the ready as you tend your nets and traps, but dont be out in daylight, dont show a light at night. and dont travel far from your trapline. Other than by sheer luck, the return is not worth the calories spent, much less the risk of being shot.
