The first time I heard this song I was 15 years old, everything was different I felt so many things listening to this song, now 16 years later it brings back memories of that time, but it doesn't resonate the same way anymore. Growing up is painful and we leave so many good feelings along the way, feelings that are only possible to feel when we are still young and full of hopes and dreams, but as we grow up a lot of this is lost and we leave these feelings along the way.

September 27, 2009? I was about in my 3rd or 4th year of High School back then. Now, 2024, I am a public defender and preparing my pleadings for filing hours later while listening to this atm. I can't believe how fast time flies. Miss those days when they were still simpler, games were sold complete even without DLCs, punk rock and alternative rock bands and MTV, cartoon network - nickelodeon - disney still produced solid cartoons, nokia cellphones with earphones, love letters to and from your crush, courtship was still recognized, eating mcdonalds or kfc felt and going to the movies were still a family thing. Damn.. thanks KZbin for being a time machine.

You don't look like a dense atty. I'm on the victim end of a case right now, so I've got a bit of a bias against public defenders - so naturally I checked out your page haha! I don't understand how you can defend some people. Don't you find it difficult when you know they're guilty? Anyway, you've got a beautiful voice. I wish I could go back to the simpler times, too.

@@jharris7 you don't wanna post your work on youtube tho unless that's where you'll get your source of income from. further, who says I can't be talented and at the same time be an attorney too? anyways, I understand your point. as government lawyers, we are paid nonetheless, whether we win or lose, paycheck to paycheck - so there IS some sort of complacency. as opposed to lawyers in the private sector where people tend to not pay them or make it hard for the attorneys to receive their end of the bargain on the other end. it is a gamble in the private lawyering practice so the tendency to win is more inclined to those in the private practice to have more chances of reputations and payments. most cases that go to us public defenders are usually losing cases and indigent/pauper litigants who cannot afford the big firms. end of the day, some win, some lose, but all the rules require is due process and an opportunity to be heard.. to be represented. the bare minimum required is given. as to my clients who are guilty, yes i feel anxious in the fact i defend the scum of society. i have to sacrifice my intellectual choices and preferences for the sake of "duty" since as public defenders, i am a "public servant". to be frank, i never wanted to be a lawyer but was pressured by my family of professionals. so to do what i don't like on a daily basis, more so the fact i don't believe on an existential level on the essence of positive law at its core - yeah, i feel bad defending these scum. But hey, I gotta eat and this is what pays. moralizing is a waste of time. and I'm paid to do this anyway.. so.. i hope you win your case.

@@pepehorhae I appreciate your reply! I wasn't aware that public defenders are paid whether you win or lose. I suppose if you're going to be a defense attorney, then getting paid no matter what is a good way to go. I understand and agree that everyone deserves due process, but it's difficult for those of us who have been hurt. It doesn't matter all that much to me if my case is "won" because I've already lost so much. I suppose, for a person in my position, it's easy to lump all defense attys together. The way that I've seen victims almost berated by the defense is difficult to look past. If it's your job though, then it's your job. There's plenty of decent people doing shit jobs, right? Keep making music! You are talented and music feeds the soul!
