Hi all I’m a new hunter in Mississippi, I hunted public land once and loved it gonna do it again. I would like to know what is the rules on field dressing a deer and dragging it out or quartering a deer and pack it out. I could never get a straight answer for this question. Thanks
@bch551314 күн бұрын
Not aware any restrictions in general. If the WMA or NWR doesn't have guidance I believe it is allowed to quarter etc. at the place I hunt in AR they DEMAND you field dress which is unusual to me but thems the rules. Makes it an easier drag. I may just drag them out a bit before I gut them where I want to vs right in middle of my spot

Here is something no one covers when reviewing these. Do you have to use two hands to attach to the D loop? Or is the smaller “claw/hook” weak enough that it’ll just open like a carabiner and easily go on the D loop?
@everydaysportsmen2 ай бұрын
@@JBJHonez it’s weak enough to attach one handed as long as you clip in at the lowest point of the d loop right next to the string. The loop is more rigid and once you get used to it, it’s a breeze!

This is the simplest most well covered video on saddle hunting on you tube. Thanks so much . I have watched so many that left me feeling like it was too complicated to try. Your video made it comforting to climb a tree like this and literally covered every aspect that others do not. Outstanding teaching and explanation for how to hunt out of a saddle with ease. 2 words to describe this entire video: experience and intelligence. You keep it simple and use the tree and surroundings to your advantage. Very smart setup. I think I'll be saddle hunting instead of tree stand, the maneuverability of the saddle and the fact that you can conceal yourself easier sells it for me.
@markeverson584910 ай бұрын
I started bow hunting in the 1960s back then there wasn't hardly a tree stand around but I used to bear hug a tree go up string of the ball across my chest I killed dear that way it was hard I had to find a tree with limbs but I can stand on up yonder later on so these saddle hunting rigs are the first I've seen of it:-) I could bear hug a tree and go up 20 ft in standing on a limb with my dear rifle people would drive down the road and they be afraid to look up at the crazy guy in Orange with a 30-06 no way to get up there😊
