Happened on this video today and am feeling nostalgic for my one year at Goole Grammar School 1970-1971. Love the accent and the attitude of these people. A good time in my life. I remember visiting a ship from Rostock (East Germany in those days) and also a ship from the Soviet Union. Sleepy hollow, OK, but for me, having grown up on the Isle of Wight, it was very special.

What a one sided option of my town I was 19 at the time there is so many pretty girls. We used to sit on the wall outside the new bridge pub and go to the youth club at the school down cottingham street.

Used to see those lasses walking round Old Goole all the time when I was a kid - Hazel & was it Shaz or Shazza? All the mothers got together in Old Goole and walked to school with us as a protest against how dangerous Bridge St was getting and to get us school buses :-)

@@garibaldi9528 my friend from old goole was crushed on one of the bridges over the docks, he his OK now but was very badly injured, I don't think it would be right to say his name. Happy times, great people, my best memories, I don't think we had a pound between us, but money was not on our minds.

Why do they say that wind up or steam powered machines are obsolete.... I just don't get it... the older machines worked better and they are still working

Power looms were invented in the 1780's. I can't remember which mill this was filmed in but it was in Wales and it is a water powered mill. The loom in the video is one from the 1800's not sure of the date. If you're interested check out the wiki. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_loom

How old is he? I have a bs thats around 6 months old, and he is snoring as well, I was at the vet with him and he told me he is just fine and the snoring is from the short nose....I taught bs do not snore lol...my cat has a high pitched snore :)) Also what is his weight? mine is 3.5 kg...some heavy cats ..
@Tinhare
@Tinhare 9 жыл бұрын
He was about 4 when that was taken. Yes, it is because of their stub nose as it constricts their nasal passages. They can have problems with them later in life. at least Snubby has a manly snore :) Had him weighed to day actually. He is now just over 5 and weighs 6.2kg. Yep, they are a heavy breed. Some vets who don't understand the breed can be concerned about their weight but they are a heavy cat. I don't know about yours bet both this one and our BSH Chocolate Point are very easy going cats.

Smokin' a lot and that exhaust slappin' against the crazy ring over the end of the exhaust would bug the crap outta me! If you like the engine maintain it.
@Tinhare
@Tinhare 10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The "crazy ring" over the exhaust is called a splitter. It is there to help stop the exhaust from blasting the soot, bugs and other debris off of the roofs of tunnels and bridges. When you're in a tunnel that's nearly two miles long for 40mins there's a lot of crap that can get blasted down and into your eyes. As for maintenance, the oil is changed every 200 hours and the air filter at regular intervals too. Not much else to do except adjust the tappets. Unless I take the head off and de-glaze the bores or the manifold and exhaust off and de-coke it there's not a lot more I can do. It's an everyday working engine not a nicely rebuilt show engine so, after nearly 80 years I think the amount of smoke coming from it is acceptable.

it's much the same at IOM, but sometimes the pilots there aren't as skilled as many trainee pilots go with Flybe there, so the landings are usually about as fun as a kidney infection in good weather. As I can see, the same status quo holds sway (sorry, bad pun) at Guernsey Great video

check out the people in the row justahead of the camera man, hanging onto the seat infront as if there lives depend on it...that was pretty rough, you see a lot of videos from unseasoned flyers counting a landing as rough just because they didnt expect to feel a bump at all, but this is truly a heavy landing

Ceratinly was firm the DH-8 400 is a difficult aircraft to get a smooth landing out of the best of times, so I have been reliably informed, the other thing is, landing at GCI you haven't got much room to play with so its a case of land or go around in rough conditions with an aircraft of this size. Nice Video I felt that!
