For years my mom always brings up Jacobos plan. “Bam, bam, bam, we spend the treasure. How is this a bad plan” … can you imagine if that actually happened 😂

His father died of hunger. Can the Monte Cristo treasure bring him back? Or bring back Abbe Faria?

A favorite movie. In a way, 'The Shawshank Redemption" parallels this.

Andy Duphrane’s escape method was inspired by how Edmund escaped the Château Def. He even directly references the book, “The Count of Monte Cristo” in the movie.

@@joeyboedeker7205 Ropes, pulleys and the knowledge they had as smugglers. In another pirate show, I saw them use air bladders to get chests of treasure to float after a ship exploded. (I don't remember the name of the show, but Gena Davis starred as a pirate captain.) I don't know if that would actually work, but in movies, we are asked to suspend reality and enjoy the show.

one thing that always bothered me about that line this is the first time Yacapo is hearing about the people that Edmond wants revenge on, yet he somehow know that those people are all in Paris
