Nothing really going on in Bogota, horrible traffic, bad air quality, very dirty, its cold, the weather keeps shifting within a day, high crime especially at the city center, "Pickpocket Central" and gangs dwell there and follow tourists. Invest in Medellín, Cali and Cartagena those are much beautiful clean cities, and if you want real paradise go to San Andrés.

That sucks that you don't get free motorbike parking, wifi, and a balcony to dry your clothes. In Phnom Penh, Cambodia a beautiful fully furnished apartment with free parking, wifi, and a balcony is $115/month.

I'm 60 now but when I was 18 I traveled across Canada and the states on a BMW motorcycle with a guy I met while camping at pancake Bay camp site. He was German couldn't barely speak English. Been to Bogota twice in the past four years, a week at a time, and had a blast both times (sounds like you did a lot of what I did haha)! I agree with so much you said here. I live near DC, I went with a few friends who could work remote and they were joking they could literally work remote there and live amazing. Saftey, same thing, take normal precautions, every big city has dangerous areas. As a tourist just stay to the main areas, don't get to flashy when in public, and don't get involved in sketchy stuff and you'll be fine!

Who comes up with such prices - they are far too high for what he got, unless like someone suggested you get an Airbnb long term and calculate price xx times 30 days per month.

$1500.USD a month is dirt cheap for a cosmopolitan/global city. However, Pat is NOT PAYING $1500. a month. He is paying $50. per night and he multiplied $50 times 30 days ($50 X 30 Days =$1500). The monthly Airbnb rate for that location is MUCH LESS than $1500.
