This anime really feels like they had no clue what the plan was more than an episode or 2 ahead of whatever one they were currently working on. Character monologues and motivations are all over the shop, it randomly shifts plots and focus a million times, the tone is more erratic than a butterfly's flight path, it pulls some ridiculous and nonsensical stuff out of it's ass constantly. Felt very K-drama with the main character having a major case of the Mary-sues. Just when you think it's settled down and is gonna do something properly, it completely shifts gears and pulls some other crap out of no where, that makes NO sense in retrospect (Looking at you snake lady security guard and Lion Mafia following a teenage dear) The first season was great, until the lion's showed up and then the entire series lost it's marbles and started throwing anything and everything at the wall, desperately trying to pad itself out by constantly introducing new elements but then immediately abandoning them, like they had no clue how to develop the characters or mystery without concluding it immediately. Like this had no clue how to simmer the ingredients in the pot without burning them, so they started throwing everything in the goddamn kitchen in, including the kitchen sink. The show really feels like it is entirely carried by it's art style, world lore and the season 1 hook, not the characters or plot. They basically constantly lie and cheat the audience in order to have their cake, steak, vegetables, fridge and sink and eat them all too. It's plain bad story telling, it's clear they had no plan for this character to be the killer when the first chapter was put to paper. Riz wasn't deluded, Tem and him weren't friends, the show/manga just didn't know how to solve it's own mystery and so pulled one last bullshit lie out of it's pants. That's it. Twist and turns imply you're sticking to the same path with an end destination in mind, this drove off a cliff, into a lake, hitting a plane on the way down and then tried to convince you it was actually a submarine the whole time and not a completely wrecked and fucked up car.

It is like the line from *Silence of the Lambs:* Clarice: "A lot of serial killers will take a trophy as a reminder of their experience." Lector: "I didn't." Clarice: "No.. you ate yours."

Interesting thing, but In the anime, Tem accidentally turns on a projector in the lecture hall where he is killed, but that doesn't happen in the manga. There's also the fact that tem went through the upper levels and fell down the stairs instead of the right/left entry at a lower level, and how in the manga tem was I think more a bit more prideful and had a bit more dialogue.

Alice is the greatest. Just the fake "ah, ah, ahhhh" just made me bust out laughing to the point a friend had to keep rewinding the anime because I would start laughing in the middle of the episode thinking about this.
