I'm an optician. Now... With basically EVERY patient, as soon as the doctor brings them out to me with their paper work and I greet them with a smile, the first thing I do is check to see if they are using insurance. If they are, what kind? What is covered, or not covered? See, insurance plays a HUGE part in what you can tell a patient about rim and lens selection. In other words, if the patient's insurance only covers frames that are less than $20, (we only 8 to 10 pairs of those), and only covers plastic lenses, with no fancy add-ons-- then the patient is limited to only that (very small) selection. So sadly, I cannot really encourage them to "look around" very much. But I will encourage them to try multiple pairs withing that selection. If their insurance does not cover the frame or lenses they want, then they will have to pay from their own pocket. Which many people cannot do these days. That can very easily get well over $100, or more. So if they tell me they have money struggles, and they have to stick with only the cheapest options, or what their insurance covers-- I'm not going to push them to buy things that are not 100% necessary, and will hurt their finances. That will make them regret coming to us. I care more about whether or not they can SEE well, and if their glasses fit right, than I do meeting some "sales quota". So in that case, at a minimum, I will show them the frames they are allowed to choose from (the ones their insurance covers). Also, I will ask, "Have you picked out and worn glasses before?" If they say no, I will give them the basic run-down on selection: "You should never have to bend the arms out to get them on-- they should fit your face easily. If you look down at your shoes and gently shake your head like a "no" response, they should not be sliding down your nose, or falling off. If so, they are too big. The arms should not squeeze your temples, or feel too tight. The curve that bends around your ear should start BEHIND your ear (or almost behind it, at minimum), never in front of your ear. And your eyes should be as close to the center of the lenses as possible, while you have them on. Aside from that, it is a question of your own personal taste. What do YOU like best?" Yes, at pickup, we can make minor adjustments. But its always better to start off with the best fit possible. Once I have done that, I will take their paperwork back to my desk, to get things started. I'm not abandoning them. I am putting their name, address, phone, insurance, and RX into their patient profile on my computer. And of course, I will tell them so, in a cheerful tone. If they already have a profile (as in a former patient), I will enter any changed updates. That can be a long, tedious, boring process. So its best that I don't make them wait through all that. I would rather give them all the instruction they will need to make their selection-- then get to work on their profile while they are busy trying on frames. That way, when they are ready, everything is prepped and all I have to do is take their measurements, ask them a few lens selection questions, and put their order through. They have busy lives too, and I'm sure they would rather not spend more time than they have to, at a Vision Center.

Hey Justin, thanks for doing the video and although I did watch it, my set up is a little bit awkward for some reason and it doesn’t do the same type of screen switch that yours does in the first part of your video. For some reason, I have 3 x 32” inch 4K monitors, anytime I press the switch icon, it will default to using the left screen without me being able to resize it. It actually uses the whole left screen. So unless I can size it down to make it smaller, it takes up too many pixels and it’s too much graphically to animate anything smoothly, (even if I bring it down to 720P). But I did figure out a way and it’s working fine now the way I have a currently set up. Even with the trial and error, I was able to figure it out. Thanks again for doing this video! Great job!

@@Chromajt I am actually using a AMD 6900 XT GPU and I have all three monitors hooked up to the same GPU. So for whatever reason it might be a glitch with using Keynote that limits its ability to be able to do that. But that’s OK because of watching all these videos I’ve been able to finally figure out what works best for my zoom call scenario when I’m doing this life presentations and I can also read my script when I do it in rehearsal mode when I pick the custom screen setting on zoom, it works perfectly. Thank you again for making this video!

During the 1990's, I was a Walmart optometrist in Colorado. They told me there was a year to year lease; however contract specified that lease/occupancy could be terminated in 30 days. Store managers & assistant managers are uneducated Arkansas hillbillies. They get involved in your practice. It is always the one optometrist against corporate Walmart. I was once told to refund the patient's contact lens patient's exam fees after patient bought glasses & 1 year's supply of soft contacts; the reason was that patient stated "I didn't like the doctor"... I had patient complain to store manager when I charged for an exam, 6 months after the initial exam; subsequent to my first exam, patient started diabetes medication and subsequent vision change. I was threatened with termination of lease if I charged her for a second exam 6 months after first exam. The patients are mostly welfare caliber people. I also experienced some ethnic bias against me and my patients. I am white, but I am fluent in Spanish; optical manager did not like my Spanish speaking patients and she made this clearly known. Whenever there was an issue between the optical manager and optometrist, the NVA manager, the optometrist looses. Expect to hear:' We have hundreds of optometrist and you are the only one that gives us problems." You have been warned.. Best to all optometrists.

(all connected usb) how do I program my 3-4 cameras and switch between them within stream deck/stream yards.. I was wondering if Stream deck made a plug-in or if it’s just something as simple as setting up hot keys. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video and answering our questions.

So the best way I have seen this done is using a virtual mixer such as loopback, voicemeeter banana, Elgato wave 3, ext this way your mic and sound effects are coming through a single channel of audio.

I went this last week. There 3 girls and one gave me a plastic box and said any I try on put on box. So they can sanitize. And it was very expensive. I ordered progressive glasses and progressive sunglasses. They told me they would adjust when they came. I just read reviews and I'm so scared of the quality. I usually get them at Costco but I am single and don't buy bulk food. So I really didn't want to support Costco. Especially since you need to be a member to buy a in pizza or hot dog or a drink. I owner was tv a few years ago saying nothing south the food court. But yes it did they threw it outside band now you need a card. I have my morals that I stick too. And believe me I hated got to Walmart vision even though they aren't owned by Walmart according to the employee.

I've only recently gone to Walmart vision center recently for the price because my old glasses broke. But so far they have done a very bad job. My doctor didn't seem to know what he was doing, even doing the test wrong making me look through my bifocal prescription to see far away in the test. This lead to my first glasses being wrong when I got them. When I said they were not right the lady who gave me my glasses said give them a few days to adjust and just sent me on my way. The second time when I came back they regave me a test, once again said it was fine and got my new glasses. These new glasses were much nicer but for some reason were warped on the left-most lens. They also never adjusted my glasses either time and these ones are very crooked. When I asked them to fix it then and there they made an appointment for me to get them looked at again 3 days later. A lot of what you said matches my experience. Except for me, the lady with the frames helped me a lot pick out ones and the doctor was the one who seemed to be bad at his job. As of now, my lens are warped and my frames, while look nice, do not sit right at all. After checking several reviews I can promise that I don't think I could recommend Walmart Vision Center to anyone.
