gameplay wise, M3 is my favorite of the franchise mainly because it doesn't have the annoying time gated missions that you can fail easily from the other 2 sequels. remember the car race mission from M1? there is also the Lucky Bastard car chase/tailing quest in M1 DE. M2 had something else which i cannot remember. however, M3 has that super annoying boat chase at the start of the game that required many to restart the whole damn mission multiple times. they know what they were doing when they made that quest and put that at the start of the game.

Here in 2024 i got this game not long after it came out and i absolutely loved it the world the time setting was amazing

One has to be a really self-hating White person to show such vitriol towards fictional slavers, as if they were real. Not to mention that many slavers were Jwish. There was nothing approaching this version of a real "southern union" in the real-life 60s. There was only a dixie mafia operating at that time, which was only called dixie because they were active in the southern states.

I hated Mafia 3 as a “Mafia” game. I still did my part, paid full price, at launch, to support the studio and the Mafia franchise. It’s a shame how studios get cut and closed over 1 game that doesn’t meet projected sales. This game had potential. The people responsible for making core design choices that ruin what could otherwise have been a great game are often not the ones to lose their jobs either. It’s people like artists, animators, and coders that lose their jobs even when it’s arguably not their fault.

And yet I finished Mafia 1 and 2 multiple times and can't get through 3 because of the boredom. It's just not a true Mafia game. It may be a good game for others though, but personally don't care for it at all.

Borderlands has always been good at ludonarrative. You're an absolute demon that grubs for new guns, new grenades, cash, and blood. You like killing people, you are not a good person, and you are above all things shallow. You like death. You like loot. You like prying things out of still tensed hands, you like hurting people. Tales, on the other hand, is a group of manipulative losers all trying to swindle their way to victory. Lying and convincing and worming their way through conversations that they don't have the skill in combat to solve. When you see Zer0 he's fucking terrifying, a whirling dervish cutting through hordes of people as you scrounge and scamper, desperate to survive. People are bigger, larger. Even the low level bandits and psychos are nigh unsurpassable obstacles. Killing takes effort, advantage, and skullduggery. You're not heroes, you're not even combatants. You have no right to even be sat at the table with the forces that are after what you are after. To that extent, you have a *Jack* weighting your hand.

I genuinely hate how much people dislike the game. It's not that I don't understand because I do. It is very repetitive and buggy. But dammit, the story is so fantastic. I found myself loving Lincoln Clay, John Donovan, and Burke. And Vito, of course. But I was so hooked into the story that the gameplay didn't bother me. The voice acting was phenomenal. The choice of music was phenomenal. It really was a fantastic game. It just had too many bugs and it was too repetitive. It hurts, man.

His name is Lincoln Clay muhfuhkuhhhh. That man Lincoln has to be one of the best gaming protagonists

I played all 3 games back to back, definitive edition was definitely the best bit mafia 3 was just such a wonderful game to play. Will never understand the love for 2 though, hated every moment playing it

Mafia 3 always kind of felt like my Last of Us, honestly. A great story and cast supporting fairly mediocre gameplay. For me, personally, the story is good enough to get me through the sometimes repetitive missions to get to the next story segment or character interaction, especially whenever Donovan shows up.

The game itself isn’t that awful. It’s boring and repetitive sure but it’s got a good mind to it. It is NOT a good mafia game.

Gwyn is one of my favorites honestly, not because hes a hard boss or anything its because of a few things. Throughout Dark Souls Gwyn is constantly hyped up through multiple lore descriptions and the opening cutscene, making him seem like a true god. We end up fighting the craziest things; an immortal dragon, a broken witch turned fire horror, the walking embodiment of death itself, etc. and the ultimate and final boss is just a sad broken old man who can barely carry himself to fight us. Its the ultimate subversion, and the theme song being played by only white keys symbolizing Gwyns fear of the age of dark is the cherry on top

I finished Hitman 2 silent assassin yesterday, and I can say that the game CAN be pretty fun if you don't give a damn about rating. There were missions where I thought I could get SA, so I tried to play them clean, but there were times, when I was like: okay, I'll be stealthy, but if things go South, I'll just try to finish the mission. I think this game is (somehow) clunkier than codename 47, cause there at least the disguise was working normally most of the time. There was that one time in 'Shogun showdown' where I could run in disguise and nobody cared for some reason. Also, the very last level almost made me turn to cheats, cause I couldn't strangle a guy with a fibre wire, but luckily I finished the game without cheating. I despite all that, I still enjoyed the playthrough

Man it makes me mad to see the renaissance given to AC Unity when that game objectively is not half as good as this one (Even though I do enjoy it) but this game is still considered bad. It has its flaws but if it were released in 2010 we’d be talking about what a classic it was.

The Covetous demon does have one interesting thing about it. It's really easy to dodge but if you get eaten it'll strip all of your equipped gear which can be absolutely terrifying the first time it happens. The Rotten also has an interesting detail that you missed. There's a little dude on his left shoulder that telegraphs what the boss is gonna do next which is just plain neat.

Everytime I hear pinwheels theme I can only crack a smile on how hilariously weak the boss is.

This game was good only in the potential it never realized.

Whenever I play souls 1 now I sprint to the first black knight in undeadburg and if he doesnt drop a black knight greatsword i restart. that greatsword will last the rest of the game into NG+ etc. since 2011 i've probably beaten the game 3 times for every year it has been out.

The game wasnt bad but they went from a simulated game with eating and drinking and better driving games. The cars in mafia 3 are just bad. Thats not an opinion. Its the truth. I love the story. I love the shooting. I just wanted it to be like mafia 2 with an interactive world

The saving grace for me with Gael was how easy it was to break his stance.

Lorian and lothric was an amazing fight. Took me a handful of tries to consistently dodge Lorian’s sword swipes but what a dance it becomes when u finally get into the rhythm

Sister Friede was brutal with the third phase.

Dancer of the boreal valley gave me some trouble for sure. At first glance it seems like it should be easier given the more deliberate nature of her attacks, but it took me a handful of tries to get through this one. Dragonslayer armour had big windups but he’d throw out some fast combos that require some a well timed dodges in a row. Another one that took me several tries. Funnily enough The Nameless King took me only two tries but his movements were the types I tend to time pretty well. Most of the hits I took were when I would try to gets greedy with my attacks

Fun fact about The Lost Sinner in DS2: The great soul you get is actually most likely from that weird insect thad borrows into her eye in the cutscene. It's similar to how the soul you get from The Duke's Dear Freja is from that dragon corpse she broods inside of.

My girlfriend watched me play mafia 3 for the first time the other night. she loves wings. My executions are brutal in games but when she saw what Lincoln does with his knife her mouth hung open as she watched him carve up a mobsters face.
