I like all mafia games, national treasure at least the first one. But 3rd is not one of the best open world game, to you maybe but that's it

You can also dominate Gwyn with a secret technique called Literally Just Having a Lot of Poise. But that's Dark Souls 1 in general. It's definitely inaccurate to say Dark Souls 2 is "universally" regarded as the weakest entry. Some of the loudest and earliest critics would have you believe that, but I honestly think all three titles are about equally popular. Everyone has one game they love, one they hate and one they're ambivalent on, but those three are not the same for everyone. I think if we're being fair and recognizing our own bias most people would have to admit all three are great games but are all deeply flawed in different ways, meaning which you like and dislike is all down to individual idiosyncratic values.

I really liked it! It is a shame the world is pretty empty, but other than that it is a solid game. The music, 60's setting and characters were all very good.

Is it just me but yes i hate the bed of caos fight but the run back wasnt that bad... thiers a hallway with a titanit demon u run past drop down then run up stairs and slide down? I never went near lava durning my run back

Gael is not a hard boss. His moves are very predictable. The first time, it took me only 5 attempts to beat him. That being said, it is a really fun fight. One of the most satisfying in the series.

I know this video is old asf but I have to get mad at the spear of the church fight. Twinblades spammers are the easiest shit in the world to parry. Get a small shield, block two hits and immediately parry the 3rd, now pull out a riposte dagger with hornet ring and take out 90% of their HP. If you lose to a Twinblades spammer who has no estus at all, skill issue honestly. Online Spear of the Church is so fucking cool

Oh no. Not a videogame wth 18 levels in it in which some of your activities are repeated. Imagine playing Mario 64 and being like, "Ugh... I can't believe i have to get 8 stars in 15 levels. All you do is run around, jump, kill enemies and collect stars. Dont get me started on the amount of times you have to fight Bowser. So lame and repetitive."

I enjoyed it. Some strong stuff in it, terrific music & performances. Good story too. Gameplay got a bit repetitive but didn't feel particularly bad.

I feel like you really downplayed how good of a boss the Bed of Chaos is. In my opinion I don't think any boss in the series has ever even come close to reaching the quality of the Bed of Chaos, it's by far the most well balanced fight in the series, truly lightning caught in a bottle.

Calling out the terrible optional income booster missions deffo validated my feelings in regards to this game.

Mafia 3 is an objectively mediocre game. The city looks like its made out of plastic, the enemy AI is beyond stupid, the interactivity with the open world is lack luster and the story is nothing compared to Mafia 1 and 2. Stop shilling for this mess.

There's so many mechanics you obviously don't know during this video, specifically at DS2 part that I don't know how you even decided to do this review.

Old hitman games are defined by inconsistent everything. First game is not a stealth game Silent assassin has bs mechanics. “Yame”- disguise is virtually useless in Japan levels. They ask for ID in a level where in theory they can’t recognize you. But don’t ask for ID in a level where they clearly can. Contract is unnecessary. It’s story takes place After the 3rd mission of the next game. WTF? Blood Money likes to waste your time if you’re going for silent assassin rank with accidents all 0s, there are Long stretches of time of doing nothing. Why is the wife in a new life deliberately walks slow making her “accident” tedious to perform? Another thing. The gun collectible feature is virtually useless especially in first two games. Shooting lowers your rank. You have a storage unit of cool guns but are not allowed to use them! WTF.

Gameplay wise the game felt lacking to me, Story wise, its a game i constantly come back to. Overall i love the game, and i felt people play the game with the expectations of a All-time amazing game with zero flaws.

my favorite driving model in all of open world games. if i had to guess mafia 3 is built on a racing game engine. the cars handle so well, suspension is tangible, weight transfer affecting grip,the sound design, i could go on but it's just so good.

Beat part about this game is no car alarms.

gameplay wise, M3 is my favorite of the franchise mainly because it doesn't have the annoying time gated missions that you can fail easily from the other 2 sequels. remember the car race mission from M1? there is also the Lucky Bastard car chase/tailing quest in M1 DE. M2 had something else which i cannot remember. however, M3 has that super annoying boat chase at the start of the game that required many to restart the whole damn mission multiple times. they know what they were doing when they made that quest and put that at the start of the game.

Here in 2024 i got this game not long after it came out and i absolutely loved it the world the time setting was amazing

One has to be a really self-hating White person to show such vitriol towards fictional slavers, as if they were real. Not to mention that many slavers were Jwish. There was nothing approaching this version of a real "southern union" in the real-life 60s. There was only a dixie mafia operating at that time, which was only called dixie because they were active in the southern states.

I hated Mafia 3 as a “Mafia” game. I still did my part, paid full price, at launch, to support the studio and the Mafia franchise. It’s a shame how studios get cut and closed over 1 game that doesn’t meet projected sales. This game had potential. The people responsible for making core design choices that ruin what could otherwise have been a great game are often not the ones to lose their jobs either. It’s people like artists, animators, and coders that lose their jobs even when it’s arguably not their fault.

And yet I finished Mafia 1 and 2 multiple times and can't get through 3 because of the boredom. It's just not a true Mafia game. It may be a good game for others though, but personally don't care for it at all.

Borderlands has always been good at ludonarrative. You're an absolute demon that grubs for new guns, new grenades, cash, and blood. You like killing people, you are not a good person, and you are above all things shallow. You like death. You like loot. You like prying things out of still tensed hands, you like hurting people. Tales, on the other hand, is a group of manipulative losers all trying to swindle their way to victory. Lying and convincing and worming their way through conversations that they don't have the skill in combat to solve. When you see Zer0 he's fucking terrifying, a whirling dervish cutting through hordes of people as you scrounge and scamper, desperate to survive. People are bigger, larger. Even the low level bandits and psychos are nigh unsurpassable obstacles. Killing takes effort, advantage, and skullduggery. You're not heroes, you're not even combatants. You have no right to even be sat at the table with the forces that are after what you are after. To that extent, you have a *Jack* weighting your hand.

I genuinely hate how much people dislike the game. It's not that I don't understand because I do. It is very repetitive and buggy. But dammit, the story is so fantastic. I found myself loving Lincoln Clay, John Donovan, and Burke. And Vito, of course. But I was so hooked into the story that the gameplay didn't bother me. The voice acting was phenomenal. The choice of music was phenomenal. It really was a fantastic game. It just had too many bugs and it was too repetitive. It hurts, man.

His name is Lincoln Clay muhfuhkuhhhh. That man Lincoln has to be one of the best gaming protagonists

I played all 3 games back to back, definitive edition was definitely the best bit mafia 3 was just such a wonderful game to play. Will never understand the love for 2 though, hated every moment playing it

Mafia 3 always kind of felt like my Last of Us, honestly. A great story and cast supporting fairly mediocre gameplay. For me, personally, the story is good enough to get me through the sometimes repetitive missions to get to the next story segment or character interaction, especially whenever Donovan shows up.
