Very nice that you can keep the mission items, your base is always so well thought out you give me great ideas to streamline my chaos 😊 thanks for posting your adventures.

Hey, new adventure. Woohoo. Re your statement about putting fencing on the dirt, if you wrap the dirt area with wood beams, or half walls into the ground, can you place the fence on those?
@MaddstoneSurvivesКүн бұрын
I have tried several options, it appears the fence pieces will only attach to full size floor pieces. Thank you for the comment!
@ajaybanoth50572 күн бұрын
why dont you place half flors on the wall and placethe beches or storage chests, it can save a lot of space
@MaddstoneSurvivesКүн бұрын
I may do something with that idea.. maybe with some chest as extra storage out of the way!

Why ❓ don't you build a large protective wall around your aerea? You won't have any more unexpected attacks, your buildings and animals will be protected from wild, aggressive animals.❗ Best wishes from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

@2:07:33, I like to use a flooring piece off the exterior walls which builds a mezzanine and place the cabinets up on the edge allowing access from main floor level. You have to use an edge beam in order for them not to hang off the edge. It saves a ton of space. 🙂 I have no doubt you tried this but I am having fun pretending you don't. . . Cheers!
@MaddstoneSurvivesКүн бұрын
That has been suggest a few times, I may use something similar with chest to work as overstock storage! 😁
@ebutuoyotwen3 күн бұрын
@22:28 Structural integrity is determined by the number of pieces, path, to ground contact. So, a beam over a wall doesn't serve a purpose, disregarding aesthetics and block attachment points, unless the wall is removed.
@MaddstoneSurvives3 күн бұрын
Most of the time I do over build, most of the time for the look. Plus it doesn’t hurt making more pieces means more experience. Thank you for the comment. 😀
@rafalb94483 күн бұрын
If you can attach wall parts to sides of foundation and stone foundation is resistant to weather, here is a crazy idea - build walls from foundation pieces! That way from the outside you can have stone (and later upgrade it to bricks or concrete) while inside you can make nice wooden look, even using interior wood, which makes nice bright rooms! As for overhanging roof on side you could try to use roof half pieces. Not sure if that would protect walls, but if it would you could get wooden look on the outside too!
@MaddstoneSurvives3 күн бұрын
I though about that before but the foundations are to large. Now maybe for a bunker type design that would be cool!
@rafalb94483 күн бұрын
Yeh, after posting this I realized it would be very strange construction. Size is one reason and lack of windows would be another.

Finnaly episode 3 is ready Yeaaa!!! about the grass growing back, simply turn off this in the setting, before starting my very first prospect i turned this Off, the back yard of my base is sooo nice. About the structure integrity, i think you place way too many support beam for that small building. i have built the exact kind of base surrounded by foundation, but the size inside was 4x8, all support for my roof came from the outside beam where walls will be and in the middle of this 4x8 there was only 1 support beam, and from this central support beam i linked on both side. and i place only 1 support for each 2 block on all side (total of 12 + 1 in the middle) , never got any crack. only to let you know what is possible about structure integrity :)

A lot of my extra build pieces is for cosmetics, or how I would build if it were a real construction project. Not that I am an engineer.. but how ai think it should be. 😀

Another Maddstone adventure, another reason to have a few quiet vodkas 😃 I'm building a new PC not specifically for Icarus, but I'd like to get Icarus to perform well on it, can you have a look at the specs of my build and give me your opinion please? CPU - AMD 9800 X3d GPU - 4070 Ti Super RAM - 32 Mb SSD - M.2 Pcie 4, 2Tb. Do you think thatll give me relatively stutter free performance? Thanks
@MaddstoneSurvives3 күн бұрын
I am not really a PC tech guy, I use prebuilt from CyberPower for my PCs. But the setup you have looks good. Also the main issue with Icarus when it comes to the stuttering is when I have large builds on the map. Early on in a play thru things are ok. I know from expertises that playing on a dedicated server also reduces the stuttering issues, but then you can have other sync issues. 😀

One last comment, i reached then end of your video and the Bear fight. My way to fight Bear regular one or Polar bear is always with javelin, even if you havce no talent in javelin they go down real fast, for those brown Bear Bone Javeline are enought, most of the time i use 3 to 5 to kill one, VS the Polar Bear Iron Javelin are great, also only need about 3 to 5 javelin (Head shot if possible) I do like you i dodge them on the side but.... i run just a little further away and turn so i got time shot my Javelin.
@MaddstoneSurvives3 күн бұрын
Hmm.. I may have to try the javelin in a bear fight.. like you mention though I will need some distance to setup the shots. 😀

Hey Maddstone, i learned from watching your previous serie that Food Buff is a must to have... im new to Icarus only 5 weeks playing, BUT i find out a great food to cook cheap to craft require only floor and water its the Flatbread 100% stamina regeneration -10% less water and 5% experience.... it last 14min and the BEST thing i love about Flatbreat it stack 100, but i always use 50 is enought, its also really light 50 weight about 0.5kg with that i got stamina for days, Usually i use 1 Prime meat Buff, Flatbread,and anyother buff. Note: Floor only need wheat, and early on no need farming there is wheat everywhere.

Great episode, you was talking about Bears, I just started a new small Map the Outpost one with a lake and island in the middle.... difficulty normal actually it make it harder, because you got only 25% exp. and surviving your first day or 2 will be a REAL challenge, and there is Bears eveywhere, on my first 2 days i got to kill 4 or 5 bear, and later to level up i got to only hunt for bears. finnaly reached level 15 and the stone age (building). it took forever and at least 200 + bear kill

I recently restarted on Olympus too. One thing I did was get a shovel early and dig out around my wood base quite a bit so things would not regrow...this kept fire away. The, of course, to stone as fast as you are, and .... SPIKED walls!!! what a savior those are. Also, I have put the wood posts one atop the other vertically like a lightning rod, 4-5 high near the base in the hope it is the thing that gets lightning and not my base. Never see it get hit but neither has the base.
