Just getting back into biking and bought this exact bike. My last serious rider was a 1996 pro series so I wasn’t about to settle for a vanilla mountain bike but I’m old and need the gears. Wish GT wasn’t going out of business. Maybe some badass will pick the legend back up one day.
@Choice77228 күн бұрын
I just picked one of these up, it's in rough shape . The previous owner rode it hard till he had a motorcycle accident . It's the black and anodized green version. Needs correct rear wheel, chainring and repaint/decals. Cool bike I had performers back in the 90's

The GoPro angle should be seen as a legit option for big productions. As a cinematographer, I stand by this perspective, even though I know it can be divisive. It’s the angle that captures the rider’s feeling best. You don’t need a $50k camera to deliver powerful emotions. Because that’s the goal: capturing the rider’s sensations takes priority over creating a technically and artistically polished image. But it’s an open debate, of course !
@eve-llblyat257626 күн бұрын
@@PaulFissonVisual Wtf are you talking about. "EMOTIONS" "SENSATIONS" "ARTISTICALL" Its a MTB Video. The POV should present the actual view of the rider. Not some altered view with bend trees. With this hard distorted view, nobody can get any feel for the locality, distances, hights, positioning. If you want to be atisticall and show danger, you could have added cgi spikes and sharks next to the trail. Or why not directly make the whole thing cgi without the need of a real rider. The job is to cut the recorded material and create video with a great flow. Take a look at all the famouse mtb of the last 10 years. Not a single fisheye lense in sight. Because all ths distorted videos get forgotten super fast. Same goes with Lost Paradise 3.

@@eve-llblyat2576 The debate seems to be wrapped up here. We’re open-minded about how we approach video-making. The fact is, with the standard GoPro shot we captured, you can’t see the shore, so that angle wouldn’t have been worth using. Believe me or not. On one hand, I agree with part of your analysis. The GoPro’s wide-angle view is very different from the traditional approach, so we knew it could be divisive. In a way it breaks the flow of other cameras. On the other hand, we gave a lot of thought to whether or not to use this angle. We asked for opinions from many people with different perspectives, some who are into videomaking, other MTB riders, and people who are neither into video and biking. The clear result was that we had to use this angle. The feedback has been really positive so far, and we’re happy about it ! That said, I understand your perspective. If everyone agreed on everything, it wouldn’t be enriching.
@eve-llblyat257626 күн бұрын
@@PaulFissonVisual You guys clearly have more expertise. Thank you for the professional and friendly response. Its just my opinion. Take it as it. I know many who do tricks with motionblur, low framerate and, different lense filters and crazy FoVs for onride videos, so it looks faster and more energetic. I ,yself try to picture it as real as possible. I would love to see raw footage of Sends like the one from elliot, to get a feeling how it would be to ride something like that myself. And thats the point why i am bit emotional about this. I look on youtube for trails and bikeparks to ride. If there are only this fisheye shots, i cant see how the trailis is, the steepness, how big the jumps are. Same is with wierd angles form helmet mounts. Only chin and chestmounts really give the right view angle. And with the insta cameras so many people make worthless videos. Good riding and content, but wothless for me.

🤯 I swear, years ago I had a dream about a MTB trail exactly like the one in the beginning of the video. A highly elevated wooden trail up in the trees in the forest behind my parents' house. I didn't think anybody would ever build and ride something as crazy as that. I almost can't believe this is real - absolutely insane! Wow! 😵💫☠️💪
