very good movie. this track was so powerful to me in Sabastian's death scene. all i felt when the score hit watching him pass after the car struck him saving her life. was all the heartache that Annette was going to go through after she finally knows Sabastian truly loved her well fit and very sad but well done in the movie. this track speaks volumes on that scene for Annette's sorrow 😥

Edward Shearmur's score for this movie has always been one of the most hauntingly beautiful, underrated, and hidden scores ever. I have collected thousands of soundtracks in my day, and this particular piano theme that runs through the movie is one of my favorites of all time. There's something about it that I cannot explain. This score was never released, but it finally made its way out anyway. It was too good to be kept locked away by the studio. Thank you to whoever did it. I asked for years, and I received. The emotion is so strong with this one. It's like a sad.....peace...? Longing for things of the past, things that are gone? Distant, lost, yet remembered...memories...? I cannot figure it out even over a decade later and it kills me. If I seriously need to think about something, well, serious or I need somekind of guidance, I play this particular piece. I know others out there feel the exact same way and read me on this. PS-- One of the only other scores with this much gravitas in parts is Meet Joe Black, especially the closing tracks where /spoiler alert/ death finally takes Hopkins and he has peace with it, returning the body he used. I think the track is called "That Other Place". Listen to it. And finally, one of the greatest of all....the score for What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Nothing even needs to be said about that one. Simply too much.
