That vehicle was known as the ParaScender, a cheap knockoff of the ParaPlane, which was the original powered parachute. I flew both the ParaScender was dangerous crap.

I LOVE hot-air balloons! They are my favorite aircraft! I've loved hot-air balloons ever since I was a little girl! Hot-air balloons are so beautiful and colorful, especially when they are being inflated and flying high in the sky!

Who else is out there from the 1986-87 building and startup of this plant? Don Shultis and Laurie, where are you? Lawrence Beatty? Charlie Johnson? Carl Martin? Radu Druga? Mike Fisk? And, Oh!, those crazy Germans from SKG? This is Tim. I did most of the instrumentation and control system work. As Charlie said, "Put a 6 on it!"

My dad was an engineer for GE and helped open this facility. I remember going out there with him sometime shortly after the facility started up. I gt a kick out of seeing the trucks lining the rim of the valley and just tossing tires out to tumble down. I ended up here after wondering what happened out there.

I hooked up the transfer trip protection to the power tap for the PGE connection,,,,,, I vividly remember coming in on the entrance road, up over the last hill, looking down.....and asking myself....WTF, all the tires ........absolutely incredible........ drove up to the Co-gen on the hill......I think they burned what 30% tire and 70% natural gas ???...... under 50 MW max load right.....yeah, it was a wonder of the world seeing all those tires

Bought one of the first ones... had a small problem w/ it, so went to NJ to see Steve. Nicest guy I ever met. I paid 4K for it. These chutes will not collapse like the new PPGs... but, they rotate at a longer distance.

Nice video except I didn’t see the use of any assembly lube on the shaft gears, or even the seal. Also your plug safety wire rotation placement is a little off. There are also specs on safety wire twists per inch per regulations. An improper install could lead to stress, breakage, and responsibility of a fatal incident. Certified or otherwise, correct procedures save lives anything less is just not acceptable. “YOU CAN’T PULL OVER TO THE CURB”.

Did you see the cart roll backwards as he hopped in , possible one of the lines got court up in the wheel ? I remember my instructor warning me about it , if your chute gets dragged into the prop it will be $$$$!
@BJCulpepper2 жыл бұрын
No he did a lot of things wrong. If a line was in the wheel you would drastically notice it. The way he laid the chute on the ground was horrendous.
