Here's my tip- Actively play with your bird when the fire work starts like make them do tricks and all so the shift their concentration and get used to sound( will also help them sleep) . Cover all windows with curtain. While putting then to sleep try to keep a little part of the cage or so uncovered and stay with them talking every few minutes, or try using relaxing sounds for birds ( i put sleeping budgie noise on loop till the fire work ends).
@wh0a124 күн бұрын
Thank you. I will definitely save this for next time. Thankfully fireworks only happens about twice a year.

Loooook iiiit!! Mellow is traveling!! 😊❤❤❤ How is the cage harnessed to the seat so that Mellow can stay safe on the road?
@wh0a125 күн бұрын
Unfortunately it's too small for a seat belt. I usually anchor with something to make it level and secure. Luckily I haven't had any incident where the cage tipped over. I'm suppose to get the new cage this week which can be secured with the seat belt.

If its another girl don't put them into the same cage, just keep the cages close but keep girls apart, you can check the tail feathers, if they have bars or markings its a girl, if its a boy, he should be singing by now

Offer her something to eat. Then, just put her cage . Leave the door open. Then put a pole she can sit on. With food and water on both sides. When she's in her cage change here food and water. She has to come to you. Just be patient.

My cockatiel, 1922 Ford Model T, is lucky to not live near where fireworks usually go off. Plus, she’s scared of pretty much any noise, so I can’t imagine how fireworks would make her feel. My sweet little girl. One time, though, we had a really bad hailstorm come in and it really panicked her. I had to sit close with her and keep her calm during all of it. I felt so bad for her luckily though, we haven’t had many hailstorms lately so she has gone quite a while, not having to deal with anything like that. :)
@wh0a127 күн бұрын
This was just the night before the actual fireworks. But yeah it was a rough two nights for both of us. It's a good thing we don't have to deal with bad hailstorm here. I like the name of your Cockatiel :)
