Nice video. I've been eye balling a 16IZ and decided I'd watch a couple videos about people's opinions. I'm STILL flying my trusty 9ZAP from the 1990's!!

Hey Brian! Just picked up a new 16izs and found your video. Coming from Spektrum, I agree wholeheartedly that the top switch spacing is horrible!! I love the switch removal mod that you did and was wondering if you would be willing to share the .stl file for your caps? Thanks so much!!

I’m new to helicopter world this always gets me a little confused. What causes the three ends to get out of alignment? Using that 3d model tool to level it by a hair. And you have to use the pliers to adjust it. Wouldn’t that make the servo off from adjusting it? Why not connect it to a computer to adjust it from parameters from what I seen online. Seems like that better right?

Hi Brian, im using this for my Heli and noticed ratchet was on, got the parts to make a smooth throttle, removed the 2 base screws, 2 screws in the batt compartment and the 2 screws under the hand grips, but back is still being held somewhere up top? any idea if missing some hidden screws to remove the back?

Hi just ordered the 16IZ I had ordered a few weeks from Amazon the frsky X20 . Had a hard time setting my helicopter. It has a flybar . I’m guessing new radios today are setup for new helicopter. So I sent it back called futaba and did a order. Now I find out they there’s a super 16IZ. Lol but I can’t find what the difference is . Thanks for the video .

Having an issue currently to update my KOSMIK 170 HV with 1.18 and contacted Kontronik Support. You had 1.17 as a version to be overwritten, was this 1.17 pre-installed or did you download it somewhere? 1.17 cannot be found in the Kontronik archives anywhere and would like to try 1.17 (update to Bootloader 2.2 and to 1.10 works for my ESC, but not the latest version 1.18....😢).

Kudos! A very elegant solution! I wish I had a 3D printer. I ended up milling an new batt plate with the correct mounting holes out of a piece of aluminum(aloo-minEE-um lol love the way brits say it). That said, what an epic fail on Blade’s(HH’s) part to not ensure their proprietary bits dont work together. Maybe Ill finally pull the trigger on a SnapMaker printer/mini CNC. That way I can carve out busted pieces for my drones as well. 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway… Cheers, B

Hi how hard is it to disassemble 16iz? Is it possible to replace gimbals with quad bearing gimbals?
@heartsoul4386 Жыл бұрын
It's a bit fiddly, but possible. There's actually a video of a guy in Japan doing the entire tear down. I followed that (no sound I don't think) and it was ok. A few hidden screws in the sequence, but all doable. No idea about replacing the gimbals tho. I replaced the ratchet and the springs. It's definately not as easy as the 8FG, nor the 14SG, but similar in the handle removal on the 14SG

I did that also. A lot of folk might not realise the heli version has the light springs, and smooth throttle, and only the air version comes with hD springs and ratchet on throttle. I had to do a tear down to fix both items, but now it's great. Brilliant radio. The spring replacement is really easy on this radio
@wizardz7938 Жыл бұрын
@@heartsoul4386 see here I thought the heli model has the spring switch on the top right with smooth throttle and the aircraft model has the flick cut switch on the top right with rachet throttle
Brian, that is a nice set up for a camera. Do you sell any or can you have one made for my Fusion 360? I have been looking for some sort of mount...also, I can't figure out how you get the speed and whatnot overlaid into the video...is that something you can add to the camera? does it have to be gopro? I'll have to look at my camera and see if I can do something like that if that's what it is...please reach out to me, I'd love to know...

Here, I'm using a GroPro 7. It collects GPS info as long as it's enabled via settings. Then the GoPro video editing software I used, allows you to add widgets to the video to show whatever info you want (and gathered). Let me check but I think I made that for a Fusion 360, the old one anyway... Email me at [email protected]

Hey bro...ive got my 480 built and im installing the electronics and the esc has two wires coming out of it and one wire is wrapped around a green donut and the other is not...i cant find any info on which wire goes to the flight controller but in your vid it looks like the wire that is wrapped around the green donut is the one that goes to the esc and you have the other wire tied up...so whats up with those two wires?...i can do all the programming stuff but i just dont know which of the two wires goes to the flight controller
@bbyrdsong3 жыл бұрын
The one wire with 1 connector, is the primary wire in which you plug into the ESC port of your fbl. The other wire is for additional power if more voltage is needed for high-end servos (where you can select 8 volts vs 5). This wire gets plugged into any Aux port, if applicable.
