Hey again, I already knew this but I've been doing more research on a player that has to be in the top 100 players you did it's not complete unless you put him in I would say pretty high up the GREAT GEORGE SISLER, he truly is on par with the likes of Cobb,Hornsby and others in his day and did some amazing pitching early on and was with Branch Rickey in finding some players you might have heard of. This needs to be done, also hope to see new lists in the future.
@iconic_baseball14 күн бұрын
I absolutely think Sisler as a hitter (.340 career) was on par with the inner circle greats, but he did not compile the WAR (57.2) that guys like Hornsby did (127 WAR). My Top 100 also accounts for iconic status, name recognition, hobby significance, etc. Unfortunately, Sisler was stuck on really subpar Browns teams and never played a game in the postseason. Based on all this, he fell just out of the Top 100 for me. He certainly deserves to be mentioned though - maybe i’ll do a video on Top 100 ‘near misses’ 🤔 Thanks for the comment!

Alan, congrats on 1k subs! 🤯🤯🤯 Well, this video shows why you have 1k subs, as you walk us through the refractors and premium cards of the glorious 1990's! 🤩🤩🤩For those who watched until the end, they were blessed with the Iconic Baseball keys to collecting: joy, nostalgia, iconic, top player, eye appeal, historical importance, and scarcity. Let's not let the pumpers and dumpers get ahold of this iconic list of special card characteristics! Well, somehow, with nothing but dollar signs in their eyes, the true keys to collecting elude them! Awesome episode, my friend! 😊👊 P.S. We are clubbies on the glorious 1995 Finest Bonds refractor!

@@vintagesanctuary Thanks so much for the insights and kind words Adam. Made my commute go faster. Fun video. You def have a thing for the 93-95 era. Funny since I’m bit younger and I remember 95-96 best. I did chores for $5 a week and it all went to like 95/96 ultra, 96 metal.
@iconic_baseballАй бұрын
😂 yep. My 90’s nostalgia certainly peaked from ‘93-‘95. To me it’s also a much more approachable period to collect. Once you hit the Metal, E-X, Circa, etc.. it gets too expensive for me and quite honestly I never had any nostalgia around PMGs, credentials, raves or rubies growing up.. 🤷🏼♂️ Thanks for watching Bill!

No blows were thrown, but tempers flared ;)…And I knew Babe was a good pitcher, but I didn’t realize he was that good. Wow…And nothin to say bout those offensive stats. He lived in a different world…Lastly, thanks again for sharin this labor of love with the world. Like I’ve said, it’s top-shelf content (award-worthy!).
