I have one. I put on a fisheye lens and its almost FF. BUUUT just like that a few days later i put on the fisheye lens again and somehow the FoV is back to the s35.😅 how does that happen?

On your site it says about FD lenses, but what does the adapter need to be used with these lenses? I checked everything and didn't find an adapter that will work with FD lenses properly

Question: does this adapter also cut ir pollution? Do you have an alternative solution if not? Thanks
Hey everyone, I stand corrected, I purchased one and have been testing it. At the new price point for the static version, it's an exceptional deal. I honestly will probably never take it out of my 6k. That being said, it will cause some decentering in the corners on wider and faster lenses which does decrease corner sharpness slightly, but in shots where you need to, you can focus for the corners to get it back. Again, it is very minor, and only at apertures around f1.4 or faster, and is unnoticeable without pixel peeping in full 6k raw. There is almost no sharpness loss past f2.8. Also, it gives a nice character to my photography lenses, and when I don't want it, I just stop down! I will be testing it extensively in the months to come, so subscribe to my channel if you'd like to see the in depth reviews! But I would strongly recommend it. It is comparable to the metabones glass, at a similar price point. Buy it, you won't regret it, the extra stop of light alone is unbeatable.

I have a Pocket 6k and recently bought the Pictor Zoom set (20-55 and 50-125). I'm interested getting some wider shots with the 20-55, and shooting in lower light more easily. Is that achievable, I'm not very knowledgeable on these things, just starting. (They are T2.8, so not sure what that translates to in F stops. Not fast, but good for cinema zooms.) And as they aren't exactly razor sharp around the edges, I'm hoping this mod wouldn't make that too noticeable, or cause worse barrel distortion. (I'm probably over emphasizing the lenses weaknesses... anyway, I'm aware of their shortcomings, but I like a softer/filmic look with some character, so I might be willing to give this thing a try at some point. I'll head over to your channel to see if you've got something posted yet. Thanks for any thoughts, and let me know if I can provide better information. (TBH I'm still rigging my camera ATM, and haven't had a chance to shoot anything.)

@@mrhobs hey man! Are the pictor zooms full frame or close to it? If that's the case, then this is exactly what you're looking for! Also, be sure you have the pocket 6k, and not the 6k pro! It is only compatible with the original 6k. I will get a video posted soon, but I'm still behind!
@kylehessling26793 жыл бұрын
@@mrhobs so I just looked it up and the dzo film pictor zooms are for super 35, however, the speed booster would still be compatible you just might have some, or a lot of, vignetting depending on the image circle. Super 35 can cover a wide range of sensor sizes unfortunately. But if vignetting was bad, with the 4k raw mode and the speed booster, you get the same field of view as without the speed booster, but am entire extra stop of light. Making them more like f1.8 zooms!

@kylehessling26792 жыл бұрын
@@yanbinguo3882 Hey there, Yanbin! Unfortunately, the nd filter would be in the way of installing an internal flange speed booster like this, so you cannot :( that being said, the internal NDs are incredibly helpful, so it's still a nice trade-off! I would just get the sigma 18-35 for your 6k pro and call it good! If you're looking for something fast and stabilized, I would look into the Tamron 35mm f1.8 VC or the Tamron 15-35 f2.8 VC. either of those lenses are vast enough to give you a full-frame look without having to have a speed booster.

The corner sharpness seems to take a pretty substantial dive, unfortunately. Thats not your fault but whoever you're sourcing your glass from is not really delivering a high quality optic. One solution would be to make the speed booster cover a significantly larger image circle and then just use the center of it. Metabones .71x for mft is likely the same glass that is used for apsc sensors, but because they only use a center portion of that glass, the quality is higher as they crop out the corner areas where CA and softness are a problem. It'd be different if the sensor wasn't 6k, but because of that fact, the sharpness has to be almost perfect for me to drop almost a grand on it. I'm thinking about picking up canons new speed booster for canon rf to ef. If I extract the glass element from that and 3d print a bracket for it, I feel like performance would be the best possible. I've already taken apart a viltrox speed booster and janked together a duct tape ring to hold it in the 6k's flange with surprisingly good results as long as you stay above f2.8. However the bokeh is so swirly its almost distracting at times. So I'd like to give the canon a go! Great design though, the filters and kit you're offering is nothing short of top tier. I would pay you 1500 dollars without sweating it if you could rehouse a speed booster from canon, or just got sharper glass in general. Again, awesome video, stellar product! I would buy now if it was quite a bit cheaper or sharper!

Hi Kyle, I invite you to look at our sharpness test from minute 3:00, you will notice that there is no loss of sharpness in the corners, except for a slight distortion. Thank you
@kylehessling26793 жыл бұрын
@@lucadapters8653 First of all, I highly appreciate the reply! Also, I would be more apt to buy one if I even knew how to do so in the US, not a great deal of documentation at the moment. So it looks like the Nikkor goes from smeary to blurrier. It isn't a substantial loss, I'll give you that. But I would be dastardly curious of its performance on a higher quality modern photography optic. Perhaps one of sigmas primes? Or a canon cine prime? I would be willing to do an extensive sharpness test for you, that I would allow you to upload to your channel if you would send me a testing unit, or provide me a significant discount on the purchase. I just can't justify the cost at the moment when I could rehouse the canon for cheaper. Also, I should include the fact that I use my pocket 6k for extensive VFX work and blue screening. Clinical sharpness matters almost none for every other type of filmmaking, and your product is perfect for that. But for chroma keying, I need it to be sharp as knives to justify the 1k or so asking price.
@kylehessling26793 жыл бұрын
@@lucadapters8653 Also, strange question, probably not possible, but due to the highly recessed nature of your speed booster, I could literally stack another booster on top of it. Would this work? Can you perhaps make a mega booster that stacks two of your elements? This would bring the 2.8k crop to apsc 1.5. it would also bring the 1.6 crop of the 6k to a .8 crop which would be awesome for lenses that would cover that image circle.

@@OnyxStrobe I would think the flange would be pretty long, so you'd have to use something like Mamiya 645 medium format lenses, but you could probably even just stack your metabones with a cheaper viltrox to see if you can even get a usable image!
