You´re absolutely right. I love this version because it´s kind of raw, not perfect and heartfelt. Didn´t care much for dropping the note on that "you" though. A nice talented singer I would like to hear more of ...

@@peteraschaffenburg1 to be fair I was 16 and my family couldn’t afford voice lessons. I’m now an equity actress in my 30s with extensive credits and training but thanks!

@@ChristinaStroup it’s funny... as a vocal coach, when I listen to young raw talented singers, I don’t really hear what they’re singing at this moment. I hear what they could sound like a couple of years later and what I would make you do to get there. Like I said; I wanted to hear more of you and because of your reply, I just did. You don’t need excuses for why this version isn’t perfect. To me it is. 😉 I might have given you a few pointers on where to breath but otherwise it’s all good.

I hate the school versions. I like where the cat opens the play with "After all of those years being stuck on a page". It's much better, BUT although this is the high school version, their cat is badass

um.... a little over done.... anyways... I did this play at ms today, yesterday, and I'm doing it tomorrow. And our cast and crew is really good, and all the cast members fit the characters. (freaking serious) I didn't even think it would be that good, but everyone thought it was amazing.... the elementary kids are so cute! It was super fun to do this. ;3

Having seen all of the Pimpernel videos on your channel, I simply have to wish this actress the best of luck in her theatre career. Her performance really is a tour de force for a high school student - I'll have to keep an eye out for her.

Also, like the other commenters, I'm very impressed with the vocal talents here. Even ignoring the fact that it's a high school production, Percy and Marguerite are nothing short of spectacular. =)

@Terrygaller There are several versions of the script - the Original Broadway Recording is from Pimpernel 2.0. The most recent incarnation has "You Are My Home" rewritten to be Percy and Marguerite's wedding vows, and is reprised by Armand and Marguerite just before Armand heads to France late in Act I. For anyone who's curious, the earlier version of "You Are My Home" was between Armand and Marguerite in prison in Act II. It was replaced by Marguerite's solo song, "I'll Forget You."

@DancerChickaa In the play Jojo's a boy, but usually if they have a girl actor for it they change the character to a female, since Jojo's a unisex name.

This is one production where less actors is good...every person in my school's production had more than one role except for Jojo, Horton, Mayzie, Gertrude, the Cat, Mr. Mayor, and the Sour Kangaroo...and me, of course, because I was working the lights and spotlight. Some people had five roles, sometimes more!

Amazing production all together. I especially like the job your sound crew did on the microphones, you can't even see them! (if you guys didn't use mics I'm gonna look pretty stupid posting this.)
