I'm not sure how certain bands got selected to succeed in the mid-60's? But the H-Pups certainly could have survived if they'd been selected. It must have been all about the timing?!?!

Sounds like it came from a Nuggets compilation, all the better for it. I knew there was garage in India, but did they have anything that would now be considered protopunk? If so, who was India’s equivalent of The Stooges?

Kurt has some really good taste, like for a punk rock superfan, it's weird they decided to cover first and release as a single is cover a Dutch, Psychedelic pop song

Graduated high school in the 1980's. I loved the music from the 60's. How come I never knew about this band until just recently? It's not fair.

The Standells were a versatile, well-seasoned band who started out as a clean-cut, supper-club, cover band that even performed on "The Munsters" TV show. Their record producer, Ed Cobb - of "The Four Preps", no less! - was on-target when it came to writing and producing great American Garage Rock. The Standells' "Dirty Water" album is a MUST HAVE on Vinyl. I've got mine!

I feel like smoking a j with Cobain, Grohl & Novoselic & listening to Shocking Blue, & Leadbelly would be more beneficial to all of us than me listening to the music of Nirvana.

The tuning here... Either they just tuned one instrument to the other after the instruments had been lying around for a while. Or, they have tuned to 432hz and capoed the first. Most live versions is tuned in standard. Weird.
