Hi, I'm building my Samurai from Spain, but isn't it too much tension? There is a lot of contradictory information, that the tensioner does not go to butt and depends on the spring tension.😮

Nothing about bearing sizes that should correlate with letters stamped on oil pan mating surface (in your case CBBCB) and number stamped on corresponding Crankshaft webs... Factory service manual provides a page on that subject also and is not fully understandable to me. I just ordered a new set of original size bearings and only now see that it is not that simple... they are colored according to their specs and should be selected depending on numbers and letter I mentioned above... If someone can explain this soon as I am in the very process at this moment, I would be grateful. Hoping I did not waste time and money with original size ones (did not plan to do plastigauge, I only manually polished journals and want to refresh the engine as there was no major faults to start with)

Think I get it... Letters on block indicate shell diameter and numbers on crankshaft webs indicate journal diameters. From the table in manual, this indicates that 4 of 5 shells originally mounted were colorless ones (ones I bought) and one is oversized. These sub-sizes are ridiculously small in difference so I am continuing in assembly without plastigauge-ing it.

To make something like this for car parts and water tight, are there any chart/s that I can follow that shows rivet spacing, sheet thickness etc?

Does anyone know how the size of the inner clamp on the steering rack boot. I am thinking to use a hose clamp instead of that weird style CV clamp. Diameter seems to be 3-5 inches or so?

Point of contact is on the heel of a tooth. You want the stem of the indicator at 90 degrees to a line from the point of contact to the center of the gear. The two lines should be in a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the ring gear. How close to ideal you set your indicator is up to you, but any deviation will cause the backlash read to be less than actual.

Does the spring keep the gear lever from being loose or floppy? I've replaced the bushes but the gear shifts are still abit sticky on gear 4

Don't be shy to use robber grease on new bushing, also use penetration fluid before each bolt, nuts undo. Recommend to use new rubber bushing on stabilization bar after disassembly. Just additional thoughts.
