The first time I've heard this, although I've read through the manuscript at the RNCM a couple of times. Golland was an uneven composer, some pieces brilliant, some - well - ordinary. This is one of his better efforts I reckon.

Thank you Paul. According to the remaining members of the band who were members of Lewis Merthyr at the time (1983), the work was written with the unique acoustic of the cathedral, and its 7 to 11 second delay, firmly in mind. We agree this is a fine work indeed
