Maybe this old guy should have fucked with his dentures before filming. It’s disgusting watching him with his finger in his mouth the whole video.

It's also the main reason our Constitution has lasted since 1790. Even in undivided times, amending the Constitution was always meant to be difficult. We've trapped ourselves into this 2-Party system by getting caught up in "Party" politics. We've been operating under a 2-party system for most of our existence. Until people remember how to hold civil discussions, and remember how to compromise, nothing will change. There are no major differences between our 2-partys anymore. They are both corrupt, dominated by the Elitists or Establishment types who no longer represent you. Work together, not against each other. Until we take the power back from these extremists in both parties, nothing is going to change. Quit sending career politicians back to Local, State and Federal office because they do not serve your interests, only themselves.

Raising the issue of echo chambers can come across as patronizing or dismissive, making people reluctant to discuss it. It risks labeling others as uninformed or narrow-minded, which can strain relationships. I make art installations to engage people. How about you and I dialogue? DM at your convenience

@28:00 ("The work...."). There's a point where the mind overdoes it, it needs "work." Ultimately the only thing that's real is this present moment, everything else is a story we tell ourselves about the past/future. That story is largely a matter of habit. For me: psychedelics made that real. I couldn't have realized it otherwise. it would've been a slogan that I would've cognitively said "yeah, I get it." Experiencing it is something else. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. There's definitely a need to do the work (understand how your mind works, observe it). We're largely ruled by our subconscious. Habits of self-talk, narration, being cognitively in control (sloganizing everything) arise from that for a reason. You can't just say "it's not real." But, it's handy to see how not real it really is. It can help with the work that needs to be done too.

@20:15 (some kind of automaticity claiming your attention every moment) Elsewhere he calls it "being kidnapped by the world's most boring person on earth, forced to listen to them from the moment you wake up until you helplessly fall asleep."

Russell Crowe talks about this scene, in that Ridley Scott instructs him at the beginning of shooting to look off into the distance in a contemplative way, imagining a bird. So great to see someone like Ryan interpret it in this way.

There's a really funny movie called The In-Laws (the 2003 remake of the one made in 1979). In one scene the Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks characters are walking through the grounds of the "lair" of the villain. The Albert Brooks character is freaking out because there are men with machine guns all over the place. The Michael Douglas character says that he is just choosing to notice the machine guns. What he (Michael D.) is noticing is the beautiful views and all the beautiful young women in bikinis. Great movie.

Thanks for sharing! I am sorry Ryan, not meant to be mean but at some point, your opinion remind me of Tibetan’s old saying, “a well dwelling frogs discussing about an ocean”. you did admit that you don’t know much about the subject. But I think it does injustice to your channel and listeners. When you don’t know much but decides to speak on it. You know very well how it would sound.
