Good price, big job changing the center gear though isn't it. Fine if you've done it before but not for the feint hearted. I picked one up too but it was advertised as fully working, it wasn't, the center gear was broken so I sent it back. Since then though I've got heavily into fixing up personal stereos. Created a little sister channel SpoolsOfSound but I mostly work on super slim late models. For some unknown reason I seem to have a magical touch with them.🤣

The capacity itself isn't the problem its finding anything that will fit the connector. Anbernic washed their hands of the Win600 as soon as it hit the market, much like they do with ALL their products, getting spares is impossible as they refuse to sell them and won't help in sourcing alternatives.

I need assistance when going full screen is when it glitches in many of the older games. Though, when pressing on the screen, it stops the glitching. I believe this may be to graphics driver, but not sure. Please help if you can, thank you.

This hack was relevant 2 years ago when I first posted it but never drivers might give issues. Its possible you could try with a version of the Adrenaline software from then. But you'll be potentially sacrificing updated driver performance if you do.

Got ya, twice the price but exponentially better! Smart money is on the MM+. 😁 Just my hot take. Buy cheap, buy twice. I should know I've got dozens of handhelds most of which don't get used after disappointing initial review.

@handheldgaming4life I guess it depends what you get out of the hobby. I think the sf2k is a really fun and unique little machine with decent community support. If you don't enjoy tinkering and just want performance every time then yeah it's a waste of money but that seems contradictory to the hobby tbh. And at a certain point price doesn't even matter. $14?? Like come on. And I've seen them for less.

The problem I have with the device is no mater how much you tinker you can't squeeze anything extra out of it, no amount of community is going to fix that unless they can develop a genuine custom OS that can pluck performance out of think air. Other than adding some other emulation, and thats pretty janky, the modding of the device is very much a dead end. I recently reviewed 2 other handhelds, that I picked up for the same price as the SF2000 and they're both better in every meaningful way. Or just buy the MM+ and have a great gaming experience without constant need to tweak everything.

@@handheldgaming4life i have the miyoo mini plus already. Ive got it all dialed in and it's my main retro. Nothing left to do with it. That's what I mean. You're not wrong but some people actually LIKE tinkering and messing with a new OS. If you really want performance youd just use an android or steam deck. There's more to it than that. Even if it's sub par. That being said what were the other two cheap consoles? I'd like to tinker with those too.

Did you change the display setting on the Steam Deck to 1080 or leave it as it was? Hard to tell from your vid but are the graphics crisp enough? Ive got the dock, and Forza Horizon 4 but no Deck to try atm as I'm in RMA right now and bought my external monitor (1080) while it was away getting fixed.

720p, mentioned in the video, with FSR. Runs well on a basic 1080p 60hz display. Definitely plenty playable. Video is 2 years old now, so FH4 might perform better now with the updates its had and the SteamOS updates. I feel I might make another FH4 video soon for those of us who purchased it before it was delisted.

Tbh i think 40 is fine with medium settings. Plugged in, as i always do with more intense games. I only use battery when playing retro emulation. Edit; Noticed you have vertical sync on. Turn it off, this is one of the main problems. Switch that off, set to 40 and its butter.

I believe it was advertised as 60hz but testing has proven its 57hz. Still very playable and I still use mine frequently to remote play my TV Console PC when away from home.

This has given me hope in possibly emulating my favorite game. Do you recommend using an anbernic? I just bought a POWKIDDY RGB10 MAX3 and was hoping to configure it to basically just play Skyrim, but I’m torn if that will work and how to go about it correctly. Do you have a walkthrough on how you installed and ran the game, and do you have an opinion on whether I can achieve this with the handheld I’ve gotten and if it’ll work? I appreciate the help and advice!

Skyrim barely hits usable FPS on the Anbernic. I doubt it will even run on Powkiddy. I'd say if you can find the Anbernic for $100 it would be worth buying for classic gaming. But there' really are a lot better options now. Sadly they are all quite expensive now though.

The Miyoo devices use a regular pouch style battery. Definitely seem much better quality than the 18650 provided in the SF2000.

I enjoy tweaking hardware to get the best out of it, but when the best is still subpar barely able to run close to full speed with maximum frame skipping etc then I just won't recommend. 🤷♂️

Yeah I don't think I've purchased a handheld that came with a genuine branded SD card. I replace them all, or where possible buy the model that's cheaper and comes with zero SD card and then buy a better larger one for not much more than the difference in model prices with a card. Then its a simple case of transferring your "own" ROM set onto the card.

Hey Brother! I’m over here in the US in Alabama and I also got a pretty good deal from Whatgeek. I’m pretty sure we got the same discounts on it. That was my first time ordering from them and I was a little bit on the fence ordering from a Chinese vendor. It did take about 12 days to get here but sure enough, it did. Overall great experience if you have the patience. All in all I love the Win 4. It does get a bit hot on the right hand side if you have the performance turned up for a period of time but it works fine for me. I tried the Ally X, Legion Go and Steam Deck and all of them just seemed to be a bit large for me. I would have loved to see a 7” screen on it but I bought it for portability and power. Still checks those boxes so I’m keeping it. Thanks for the video and you got a new sub from me. Cheers!

Yeah Whatgeek seem to be a bit old school in shipping. I'm guessing they batch up their orders every 5 days as nothing seems to happen after initial order. But then boom its shipped and then the fun tracking begins. For the discounts on offer though I think its worth it. Agreed about portability though. I was hands on with a Ally-X the other day and if I want something chungus I'll grab my Deck! 😂 If I want performance and portability the Win4 is hard to beat.

Bought an Anbernic RG ARC-D. It's perfect for arcade games and runs everything under Sega NAOMI/Dreamcast pretty well. Sure it's not all that pocketable, but it's perfectly comftorble both size and ergonomic wise.

The MPPT converter has an initialization problem at low light conditions when the solar panel output is very low. According to the Bluetti forum the solution is to solder a 2200uF electrolytic capacitor in between the wires of the solar charging cable.

Interesting, not ideal, but interesting. Strangely some US owners who complained enough got an update that rectified this too, but Bluetti won't listen to anyone else.

@handheldgaming4life According to the Bluetti forum there has never been an update that fixed the problem but rather the opposite, the new firmware caused the problem in 2022.

That said, if the "fix" is hard modding the cables then Bluetti should be recalling cables and shipping working ones to owners. It's the least they can do to build a solid brand image. As it stands it looks like they've cut early adopters loose.
