My reading on innovation that relook back on the classic of "Diffusion of Innovation" which study on how healthcare adoption happen, later on is Nonaka, "SECI" model on tacit and explicit knowledge. The combination of this two theory highlight a how innovative can he jump start with both inside-outside dynamics of any organisation.

That was brilliant, thank you to Jeff and Tristian for making it happen, and great idea to post it on youtube. A really clear and compelling presentation with some great questions and insights from participants. LOVED "They think that my social capital is theirs to be spent" from your colleague in Victoria. Wise, wise words and an important lesson for those yet to understand what turning the telescope around feels like in reality.

well-being of a community that is measured by a level of cohesion within that community would be the purpose of developing social capital. It will affect three pillars of a communal life such as economic, social and environmental. Buildign right human relations is at the heart of building social capital

To clarify my comments, I don't disagree with his approach, it's just not the approach I take. I think every approach to defining social capital has value and all have pros and cons for different contexts.

@@tclaridg Super helpful... My topic is narrowing to be about the relation between diverse social networks and team resilience. I started down the resilience literature stream, in part, because of our previous conversation...thank you! I agree with your typology that resilience can be an outcome to social capital in networks. In addition, I am also seeing resilience as a mediator to collective action (e.g., project team performance) through social capital in the network.

What about a group of participants who fight against illegal forest cutting. This group have a object of hatred and lack of simphaty (people who illegally cut forest). Is this a cheap social capital?
@tclaridg2 жыл бұрын
Interesting question. I think perhaps it is a little yes and no. It is genuine social capital in the sense that the group is coming together in response to a collective goal (illegal forest cutting). However, since they are responding to another group of people, it could be considered cheap social capital where it results in a lack of sympathy for the members of the other group (people who illegally cut forest). It is a good example of complexity.
