The rules for this buffet have changed....for the better! No more waiting in long lines, because they will accept advance reservations for up to four people. Also, a tip from the locals: If you are coming for the lobsters and plan to eat more than one, bring a supply of inexpensive nitrile examining gloves, available from Amazon and at any drugstore. Put on a pair for each lobster you eat, then strip them off and put on a new pair for the next one. At the end, your hands and fingers will be perfectly clean and your fingers will not be waterlogged. Also, they no longer dip the whole lobsters into a butter broth before putting them on your plate.

You know the last time I went to Yamaha casino which is the same as the palms I did the ayce lobster buffet and I got my first lobster and mine was a female because it had eggs still inside of it and it was disgusting 🤢, but I went for another one and it was much better.

My favorite Vegas buffet. We show up around 12:15-12:30 so we can get in at the brunch price, but then enjoy the seafood! With our platinum gaming status, we can skip the long line.

Pro tip: When going to a buffet and trying something you’ve never had before, DON’T load-up your plate with that item simply because you can. Especially with an expensive item like lobster. There’s always a chance you won’t like it. Then you either have to finish it anyway, or throw it away. And some buffets WILL tack on a surcharge if they see you throwing away either expensive foods or just large amounts of food in general. Not to mention…it’s just lame to waste food like that. As for lobster…in my opinion it is one of THE most over-rated types of seafood around. A lot of people don’t know that prior to World War 2, lobster was basically considered a trash food. You only ate it if you were poor. Because of rationing during the war, and the need for people to eat protein, the government teamed-up with Madison Avenue to rebrand lobster as good! Perhaps even luxurious! After all, lobster was dirt cheap and plentiful. It would serve as an adequate protein source. Since Americans are generally gullible and stupid, the ploy worked perfectly. So nowadays, most people still actually think that lobster is rare, expensive and tasty. Fact is, it’s none of those things. Old school New Englander’s still refer to lobster as “sea cockroaches” and don’t touch it. Although they’ll be delighted to sell it to tourists for a premium. Also, much like rats, lobsters will eat ANYTHING. Plastic, other garbage, even other lobsters. (This is why when you see live lobsters in a tank, the claws have rubber bands around them. Otherwise they’ll kill and eat the other lobsters.) Back in the day, when the Boston mafia would kill people on a regular basis, they’d take the bodies out to the lobster beds and dump them overboard…knowing the lobsters would eat everything but the bones. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if that still happens. Point being: Britt, if you didn’t enjoy the lobster, it’s not “just you”. Most people “in the know” understand that lobster is gross. I think it’s hilarious that so many people think it’s a glamorous, expensive luxury food. In reality it’s very easy to fish, plentiful, and devoid of much flavor or nutrition (aside from protein).
