Great video, AS ALWAYS. "Variant Tier 4" was my nickname in high school. I think you singled out the best two cards, but I gotta go with Iron Man because of the art they decided to go with on that one.

These are so much worse than the Transformers one. That last sticker is JUST FOIL, there's basically no image on it.

The cards look pretty average. I liked the reverse sides with descriptions, story boards or concept art the best. The pictures looked terrible. Normally, stills and pictures of film scenes were painted in order to gloss over the graininess. It is frustrating that Topps was featuring this as a Widesvision special release and they look that bad. Thanks for the video and review.

@cardcornered My advice to you is, if you want to keep the cards in their packaging, open the packaging with a pair of scissors. Take a piece from the end of the packaging and the packaging will be protected, so you can store the cards safely inside. Personally, that's what I do🤗

These are all from the graphic novel, one of my favourite ways to experience the Hobbit, ever since I was a kid. This is still how I imagine the characters and locations in my head. Wonderful illustrations

Brings back memories of 'Topps Shocking Laffs (Hammer) Cards' that I used to buy from my local (now closed!) U.K sweet shop in Gorseinon Swansea all those years back during 1976 - 1977. They used to come in a pack complete with a bubble gum. It was a case of buying pack after pack to try to get the full collection, you never knew what was inside exactly, so it was all rather 'lucky dip, whereupon I used to often end up with a lot of unwanted 'doubles' of cards I already had......But there again the experience of not knowing what cards were inside exactly gave off a certain joy and thrill, a bit like not knowing what was inside a wrapped Christmas parcel/box!

Cool cards!! Twins of Evil is one of my favourite Hammer movies along with Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter, Vampire Circus and the fantastic The Devil Rides Out. My late grandmothers friend played one of the lead roles of Professor Richter in Frankenstein must be Destroyed. His name was Freddie Jones and she grew up with him in Stoke on Trent, England and were friends at school and next door neighbours. He was in lots of movies and also in Hammers The Satanic Rites of Dracula.

@ Sadly I never did. In later years before he passed he was in a UK soap opera but I never got to meet him, he moved away from Stoke way before I was around. His son Toby is a very accomplished actor( Captain America, Indiana Jones etc) himself who I hope to meet one day and I’ll mention the fact that his dad and my gran were pals back in the day before he ventured out of a poor,small industrial town to star in movies with Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Clint Eastwood! I’m sure he will be happy to know that his dad is fondly remembered.

I think my favourites were the space foil and the card you liked. Interesting set, but man, they ain't cheap. Cardsmiths need to include 3 packs per mini box at LEAST or guarantee 1 hit per box.

@TradeCards i think their pricing is on par with a lot of modern stuff, and the subject matter is so unique that there isn't the same competition as with a baseball set. I definitely won't be buying too many though

Re: the back of card 14, the guy you said looks like a Ring-Wraith. I think he looks like he should be in the DUNE movies. Did this film win the Academy Award for costumes when it came out? I can't imagine a more deserving movie came out in the same year. EDIT: I looked it up and it won costume, make-up and sound editing.

Wow, Mike Mignola did the art on those cards. That's pretty cool. Dracula in the style of Hellboy looks pretty rad. RICHARD E. GRANT IS IN THIS?! You should check out Withnail and I. I'm a little luke warm on it, but a lot of people seem to really enjoy it.
