As a far left guy I think in my personal opinion the biggest problem is that most of the time the left dont adress guys issues compared to right, rather than explaining the toxic masculinity to guys left simply demonized them, far right on the other hand appeals to guys and gives them at least some explanation to their prablems ( even tho their appeal is just ahh women bad blahh blahh). This also explains why we have so many far right young guys... The reason is because right speaks to men and left doesn't l 😒 Feminism exists to help both men and women because men are also victims of patriarchy and toxic masculinity. Anyway hopefully left will adress guys issue more otherwise we will simply have more toxic guys and nothing good gonna come out of it...

I let go of this stage when I was in my early 30's. I went through many different versions of it, kidding myself that i was free from my parents. But their voice is in my head. So even if i never saw them again, the voice would be un my head. And also we inherit our behaviours and personality from our parents as well so that follows us every where. Essentially we have become our parents. So now the only thing to do is see that and work on ourselves. Then i grew up and accepted that i could set my boundaries with my parents and also still include them in my life. Doing this showed me that i need to be the example i wish to see in others if i want to feel empowered to set my boundaries. How can i feel empowered to say no to others doing something to me, when i do those things to others and i also even do it to myself? Also there is the very important thing to accept is that you cannot change your parents in the past or now. But you can change how you react to their behaviour now. You can also accept them as they are. Also in your private time give yourself what you needed and didn't get from your parents. Also meditate. You seem to be struggling to articulate your boundaries. Stop thinking and meditate.

@@DakotaUniquely as someone with a narcissistic abusive sperm donor, I get it. You are the one that gets to decide how much you want to disclose, and believe me, lots of us do get it. I am done with mine 100%. Your mental health is worth more than the abuser and you're not obligated to explain yourself to those who have no interest in understanding you. By the way, you did in fact give examples, but if people are committed to misunderstanding you, then no explanation will be enough. And no child owes more mature behaviour to their parent than the other way around frankly.

She's not required to spill all the very specific traumatizing events that led up to her cutting off her father. You're also not entitled to those traumatizing details. Finally, she gave plenty of examples, so this is a moot point. Not sure if we watched the same video based off your comments.

I've been slow on the uptake realising the similarities between women's experience of the past and men's today. Since becoming aware of it, I assumed most guys understood this too. Guess I was wrong. Thank you for highlighting the root of the issue. To all women: I know you're hurting but please allow space for men to be honest, vulnerable around this issue and get it wrong as they honestly try to figure this out. The gatekeepers of the "patriarchy" (whatever that might means for you) were men AND women. We need everyone involved to heal this wound.

So you really seem passionate about this topic and to get to a point of understanding as to why the world is the way it is now as men and womens' relationships I'll ask you a question that helps put into perspective what you talk about and tell me what you think: If any man asked you to date them, would you automatically consider their offer or would you turn it down immediately depending on what you knew about them based off of how they look and act? In life, most people base their own personal sense of self-worth on the kinds of people they are able to associate with. Friends are a part of this system of worth but as far as intimate relationships go women base their value on the men they are able to keep commitment with and the more successful and physically able his body is the higher she rates herself as a woman. For men they base their worth on the women they can have intercourse with and the prettier and fertile she is the higher he rates himself as a man. Unfortunately, most women who think this way are unable to deal with the fact that they are not seen as worthy enough by the general public to be mated with the most manly and successful men so they instead wait for the possibility that one day they'll be able to have said men as it takes away from having to accept what they don't want to. Men who believe in the same hierarchy as women do naturally become bitter because they receive behaviour from these same women that makes them feel lesser than the ones they want to sleep with. From this point the clash of groups occurs. This is the primary dilemma of men and women as far as relationships go. The gender war is simply a by-product of this issue. The solution is to abandon the system of hierarchy and pursue a relationship with someone who you believe you can be fulfilled by and not someone who will help convince you you're better than other people
@DakotaUniquely3 ай бұрын
There is a yes or no answer to this question. I would consider it in some cases and I would turn it down immediately in others based on my observations or incompatibilities. If your question is would I date any available man. No. I wouldn't. I don't think we should date first people available but neither should we stay in denial about ourselves, or the idea of hyperperfection to the degree that the standards are so high 99% of people can't meet them. Other than that I'm not exactly clear on the point you are trying to make. Do men and women use each other to boost their own self worth. Absolutely. I think that adds to the gender wars and unaware and primal hierarchy, but isn't by default the root of it, but just the symptom. As the root is crappy self-esteem and trauma originating from childhood. Which is each person's responsibility to heal and encourage them to be healed in others, so then your self worth is not dependent that heavily on your partner.
@brandonlamb90673 ай бұрын
@@DakotaUniquely "Do men and women use each other to boost their own self-worth? Absolutely." Well, that was my point. The insecurity and past experiences that come with being around people that make you feel lesser than them is the origin story of those who believe in system of hierarchy and who desperately try and convince both themselves as well as others that they have value through comparisons between peoples' social status. The hypocrisy many women are guilty of (possibly including you) is that while they're content to participate in the system of hierarchy they begin to complain when once a certain level is reached they end up losing more often than they win. You see what I'm saying? I did like the end bit you included about taking responsibility for the negative attributes someone attains through childhood trauma and trying to heal from it. That's all we should be asking from people. To be the better half of who they are. Not to be something they're not.
@DakotaUniquely3 ай бұрын
@brandonlamb9067 this hypocrisy is a natural byproduct of a hyrierchical system in general and could be applied to men and women and people in general. Everyone is happy to participate in any system that works for THEM and up until it works for them. It's like no one cares deeply and considers and commits themselves to an issue like a war for example and all the parts of a system that creates it up until there's shooting in the back yard. So to an extent we're all 'guilty' of this just in different areas.
@brandonlamb90673 ай бұрын
@@DakotaUniquely And yet this same set of systems exist regardless. Isn't it frustrating that the main reason why people shaped all the negativity in the world's history is because the majority of them are too set in their ways to do anything differently and trying to change is very difficult for those who don't trust one another to support them in a time of need?

@DakotaUniquely3 ай бұрын
This is me generalizing. They gather to try and somehow learn how to navigate the world and relationships in a way that makes sense to them and feels empowering. But the energy and ideology behind that is of roughness, domination, and survival of the fittest. Which is the extension of a childhood trauma which includes pain and hate.
