Which god and why that one?

Religion was man’s way to get to God. But Christianity was God’s way to get to man. Christianity is the only faith where a follower of Christ can put there finger in a history book and say My God Came For Me.

@@Gale-zh6ng Testimonies from those who have been touched by Christ. But obviously I don’t expect you to not call bias on that. For me, despite my testimony, all religions have always taught that we must earn our way to Heaven or salvation. But Christianity says we can’t, that even our good deeds are as good as dirty rags. The only way to getting into God’s house is by knowing the owner. Every religion always has sin and forgiveness of sin, but if God is just why does it go unpunished? For Christians it is punished, it was punished by God by Christ dying the wage of sin, death. I can go more into why it needed to be someone like a Christ but I’ll keep explaining the rest for now. Obviously, circular reasoning makes me realize why Christianity is different, Bible says this, so Bible is true. But now the question is, why is it reliable? 1,100-700 years before the birth of Jesus, prophets like Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, all prophesied the messiah and what He will do and how we will know. Hundreds of them were prophesied. Studies have shown that if one individual were to try and fulfill just 8 of those, it would the probability of 1 in 10^17. Jesus, through proven historicity, internal consistency, and proven eye witness testimony that the New Testament is, fulfilled all of them. I have a word document that has which prophecies and where Jesus fulfilled them if you would like to know more. If you want evidence for the reliability of the New Testament, realize that we claim the gospels to be eye witness testimony and a historical narrative of Jesus from what the gospels claim. Again that’s circular reasoning, but knowing that the gospels were written by different people who got eye witness testimony and that the authors never met up together to organize how to write it, make the fact of unintentional coincidences point to the claim of eye witness testimony. For example there are many moments in Luke and John, which were written many years apart, having internal consistency and unintentional coincidences, which toughens the reliability. You can find this all across the gospels. There are also archeological and geographical contexts that point toward the gospels now being fiction but actual historical narrative. More so, in the first century we have Josephus in the 90s AD who spoke about Jesus being a miracle worker, this is an outside document. We have mentions in Tacitus that Jesus was confronted by Pilate during his arrest, also in the Bible, and we see first century graffiti of Jesus being crucified, which shows that he really was crucifed and arrested and put on trial just as the Bible claims. What about the resurrection? For 3 years, Jesus’ disciples were in a loving relationship, like family with Jesus. He prophecied about His death and coming back from the dead. The early church was centered around His resurrection. Paul’s epistles to the early church, written before the gospels and 10 years after the crucifixion of Christ, proclaimed Jesus as God and that He resurrected to the early church. The disciples and many other Christians were killed, defamed, tortured, and persecuted in the first century. They lost their lives but proclaimed that Jesus gave them eternal life. More so, if Jesus didn’t come back, why would the disciples steal His body and just say that He did come back, what the Pharisees tried to spread, and then go out and love horrible lives? Personally, I would’ve sided back with the Jews who said they’d spare me if I said Jesus was a lie since He didn’t come back. Personally, I would’ve written an entire book about how He was a fluke. Now this is in history. All other religious powers tried to persecute and conquer to spread. Christianity was the exact opposite in its early centuries. For example, a Christian Monk named Telemachus was in Rome and found himself into the colosseum. He saw that people were being entertained by gladiators fighting to the death. He shouted, in the name of Jesus, stop. No one listened so he went further and proclaimed the same proclamation. Soon he was inside the arena with the gladiators and they struck him. His last words were, in the name of Jesus, stop. Then he died, and that was the last gladiator fight in Rome, ever. Now I have a few more reasons too. And obviously I don’t think this is enough to convince, and inevitably I can’t prove God or anyone to you, no one can prove anything to 100%, it’s impossible. But we’ve gotta take what Jesus historically claimed, and what evidence points to His claim being true. Archeological findings have only strengthened the claim of Jesus being God. A prison wall inscription and the shroud of Turin for example, which I can tell you about if you’d like, are recent findings that have only proved the historicity of the New Testament.
