WOW! Very bad voice recording! Wind in the speaker! Terrible! I should have taken more time showing closer details. BUT, I have to tell you, I can't drive this one! My feet are too big for the close together pedals. Impossible for me to deal with throttle and brake. My foot is too wide!

Honestly, I don't think Annie did much to help. She did look good though, not as good as that supercharged coupe though.

If it was jet black, Lee Marvin could be driving it around Cicero in 1957 as Detective Lieutenant Frank Ballinger, of M Squad.

@rodneyracer Yeah, that Napa cruser is the same make, model, year, and color as the M Squad Ford. Except for all the markings and fixtures that turn it into a police cruser and not Ballinger's unmarked detective's car. Sweet.

The interior of this Kingswood wagon very definitely has the top-of-the-line Impala (interior) which makes me wonder what the difference is between this wagon and the '59 Nomad other than the side trim with the 'NOMAD' name. Maybe that IS the biggest difference.

The department probably wanted to go with all new gear and supplies when they switched to vans or box trucks. The late 1970s were a time of rapid change in EMS.

Great restoration. But the inner door panel miss the (original) stitches.The engine bay looks a bit odd....
@rodneyracer
@rodneyracer 2 ай бұрын
Did you notice it is not a restoration, but it is a "Resto-Rod" with a Chevy under hood? NOTHING was changed that could not be undone if it was going back to 100% original.
@fastdrive55
@fastdrive55 Ай бұрын
@@rodneyracer That is true for the engine. It may not be true for the inner door panels. Unless the originals would come with the car to make correct patterns. These panels have stitched lines... I know when I see an original, they are very distinct.
@rodneyracer
@rodneyracer Ай бұрын
@@fastdrive55 DANG! Wording is difficult. If wording "done in the original style" doesn't work, then we also must consider the actual color is not exact to the original formula, the convertible top is not "correct" wiring being modern and not cloth covered is not correct, on and on.. No, this is not an authentic restored original Olds.. I never said it was, but it does stick to original style.

Back in the 50's our Dad although a wonderful father was ultra conservative and totally risk averse...cant blame him he had a growing family and had survived WWII....Long time family friend George had a "53"...2dr Hardtop...cream and green. He took us boys out for occassionally for a spin...the big Merc would hit 100mph on the Sweabury Road..huge deal for couple of country boys under 10 ! He also taught to shoot a rifle and took us fishing. It was the best time to grow up. Miss yah George.
