It’s interesting how they actually played music when running thru the snow maze. I thought that was all added in later. It certainly added to the performance.

You're just guessing those years. Filming was done 1978-1979.

People saying she’s a terrible actor, she may be, but theres a quirky awkwardness to her acting in this movie that just works really well. I have always empathised with her so much in the movie, like really feel so sad for her and i never really noticed that the acting was ‘bad’, I see it now but yeh I think it just works.

I love Kubrick's movies, but he was probably a sadist

I thought Shelley was good. I can't imagine a better Wendy than her.

Amazes me how much work and heads go into making a movie. Everyone really has to know what they're doing or experience the wrath of Stanley. In the end, Shelley did a great job

i read somewhere that peter sellers impersonated kubrick's voice for his role as claire quilty in lolita, and they sound exactly alike

Shelley Duvall....utterly gorgeous and she nailed that part. I'd have fallen for her no question. She is stunning.

Shelley Duvall is one of the most attractive and original people who ever made.
haven’t played civ5 since my college years, what feels like a billion years ago, but today i got a random feeling to play this song and watch civ5 footage on youtube even tho i haven’t thought of civ5 in a decade. went to the depths of hell just to find this absolute banger. it’s a crying shame it’s not available on spotify, only on here. i have such vivid memories of playing civ5 with my brother when we were in school. this is the song of the infamous loading screen for sure, but i didn’t mind because the song was so good. thank you for posting this!!!

King has stated he didn’t like this movie. Women get the dic as usual. Shelley had to actually act. Who worked harder Shelley or Jack? Gimme a break

Is that the great actor James Mason at 5:30 ? 👍 He did a role in another King classic at about the same time, Salems Lot.

Shelley Duvall was as critical to this as Susan George was to Straw Dogs, with both probably getting as much stick from their directors on and off set to keep them both fully immersed and both a perfect fit

Interesting how they cut out nearly all of Kubrick's temper tantrums, how he would antagonise the actor's and actresses to the point that they would walk off the set and then proceed to chase after them only to chastise them further, he would constantly shout at the crew, sit in his trailer for hours talking to himself and then proceed to shoot at random times during the day, weird how they left that part out...

I feel as though Kubrick was intentionally attempting to stress Shelley out by the way he talks down to her and belittling her concerns as a way of making her performance more believable
