What's impressive is that these guys had this song (and many other songs by Rush, VH, Journey, Motley Crue...etc...etc) nailed, complete with drum solo, years earlier than this recording. Maybe even more impressive is the videographer's ability to hold up the camera that amount of time... cameras back then were pretty big and heavy. LoL! Our class was really lucky (or spoiled) to have this band playing at pep rallies and other school and local events, they set the bar high for other live musical acts to try and live up to. Thanks for keeping this posted Tom, it definitely puts and instant smile on my face seeing this and I hope you're doing well!

Tom and Adam together are an absolutely unstoppable combination. It's easy for him to get overshadowed because Adam is just such a monster, but man, the way they feed off of each other on this record is so good. I don't know if it makes me want to practice a million times harder or just quit altogether lol

You are very kind, thank you so much! (Please do NOT quit :) I met Adam back in my very early 20s, which would've put him in his late teens, I believe, and he was already friggin scary-even back then. I had to work really hard to keep up with his amazing compositions, constantly worrying that I was overplaying (which I'm pretty sure I was, lol). But what you said about feeding off each other...that was never more true than in live scenarios where we were playing things unrehearsed. I was always amazed by how often he seemed to read my mind and would play the *exact* same right along with me... I still don't get it.

considering she did ALL the backing vocals for TLC, I was expecting some Kelly Price or Lisa Fischer blow me away type of voice. I can see why she stays behind the scenes and uses auto-tune to record backing vocals just as much as the lead singers, Monica included. Interesting, also sounds a mighty lot like Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child.

That lick at 2:50 with the 5 note groupings within the septuplets gets me every time. I remember seeing her live in ’04 and if we weren’t in church I probably would’ve cussed right when Tom played that lick. I bought the DVD hoping he did it there and he did so I happily transcribed it and learned it.
