Is this a scissor-hydraulic lift (rather than a conventional inground hydraulic lift)? Do you know if this lift still exists?

The lift still exists for now, all buttons have been replaced but it otherwise original. It is a scissor style lift. This facility is due to be decommissioned in the next 10yrs, the lift will go with it.

Sorry to say but the lifts been modernised. It’s now some generic that looks insanely cheap. The bit were the stairs escalator and lift were was behind a gate but I managed to get my phone through one of the holes. It’s probably a staff room if anything so I don’t think they will open it up anytime soon. Perhaps if another store comes they will open it up but we’ll see. Also it’s now one of those tacky charity shops

I briefly worked in this store in late 2007 and I remember being told not to use these lifts whilst the store was open.

Anyone remember the huge lifts at heelas that used to be available to the public in the 80s? They are now off limits to the public and are used by staff for goods use. They had these huge doors that opened from the bottom up

I’ve heard about these, but not seen them. I was told they were used when the rear extension first opened, but the glass lifts weren’t ready yet.

This store is now Boots, looking at photos the lift has been replaced with what looks like an MRL with NewLift logic, New Look opened a much smaller one floor store in the former Monsoon / Accessorize unit last year, a few months after this one closed
