Using an impact on the rear shock mount is definitely a no-no. That should have been done by hand with an allen to hold the shaft and a box wrench to turn the nut.

These don’t utilize that design. The threaded post for the shock mount is a solid piece unlike traditional rear shocks.

As a failed race car driver, I have never understood why someone would take off gti suspension. Only to ruin the handling of a sports cars, while making it look like a Mexican LOW RIDER. With all the work don'e to the car, I would like to think that a track day is in the future. But the grown man in me only day filled with lonely dudes standing around it talking about the good old days. I guess I need to find a channel with people that like to race cars.

Not everyone builds a car to go fast. I loved being on air. Also very practical because I could ride low but air up if I needed to clear an obstacle. Not to mention how well they rode 👌

I have a 2012 golf R. The plan with it was to DAZA swap it but after talking to plenty of friends and other shop gurus. It’s gonna be a 3.2vr6T swap with a DQ500 transmission.

Unfortunately they won’t. They’ll be coming off. I mentioned it in my last video but they won’t fit the new suspension setup

You got rid of that bare shell too quickly! You're gonna need the trunk floor pan to fit the rear sub-frame.

Been there done that! Do a deep dive on my IG and you’ll see that I too used to have an OEM R front end. I’m keeping the GTI bumper because I have the rest of the kit to match the lip in paint right now 👀 The R bumper now belongs to my buddy, he got a good deal and I recouped some money from the purchase.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Really sucks. I knew when I decided to go with the turbo addition I had to fortify the bottom end. Ended up going full Panzer mode and did rods , bearings and pistons. Had it decked and honed. These builds can hit the wallet pretty hard, but beats pulling engine 2-3 times.

My conversion cost my just over $38,000. But that was me adding a HPA turbo kit, Mfactory LSD and new upgraded clutches in my DSG.

@@Ninety4co yeah, Turbo sank me. The clutches are expensive, but HPA motorsport turbo kit will rape your wallet. It does get up and go now, for sure. Thank god for LSD or the torque steer would flip this thing! Don’t you just love the smooth acceleration though with the 3.6. especially after the 2.0 wind up.

I did this swap in my 07 GTI , but added a turbo kit from HPA. Along with an LSD. You must be using Prozac or something, because I was never this calm during the process! 🤣😎👍🫵🏼
