Richard, if you’re able and willing to, and if you can, I’d like to see and would like to know if you’re able to, can and would print some parts for me and if so at what kind of cost? To explain and discuss, is there any way to get a hold of you?

Update: Amazon sells a National Hardware turnbuckle N820-120 (1/4” x 7-1/2”) in black finish that fits the Bean 3-D printed parts. The black metal finish goes well with the black 3-D printed parts. I also added a 1/4” finishing washer inside to accommodate the turnbuckle eye angle.

Well done. The printable instructions, shopping list and this video are SUPER complete and take all the head scratching out of component preperation and assembly. The printable face template is absolute gold. I don't believe there is anything left to "tweak" and this may be the first "short kit" I ever assemble exactly as presented . . . except maybe rubber feet on the base. ;-) Again, well done. Ordered my components from Esty tonight. I've been playing with adapting a single load version available elsewhere in Internetville to a proper hopper with birch plywood and aluminum angle extrusions . . . but . . . why bother when this is available? I was playing with cogs and trip levers but the timing was way too much without the triple gear design you use.

Thanks for your order and your kind words. And yes rubber feet are an option😁.

Excellent work. The two hopper systems are brilliant. I don't have a 3-D printer but I had been futzing with a birch plywood hopper and trip gate mechanism similar to your first version using a stud on the rotating drum to drop a single cartridge. Thanks for the video.

Very nice kit, $239 for the competitors version and it doesn’t have a hopper. A little bit of time and a few parts to order saves you about $100 bucks . I built one in the past but may be building one of your kits in the near future. Well thought out and executed build.

Thank you. I just ordered one & can’t wait to dive in. Some questions: does your kit come with a list of all the other items needed (and where to purchase + prices) to complete the machine? And you mentioned that the remote propane hose/tip has a “less desirable” flame than the stand alone torch/tank. Isn’t there a remote tip which will produce the desirable “pencil flame?”

Hi Richard. You could move over to a more heat resistant such as carbon fiber reinforced nylon and/or increase the infill (density) of the part to force more mass to be heated.
@msgbean
@msgbean 6 ай бұрын
You are correct. I already print the the most susceptible parts at 100% infill and I am currently considering CF or nylon. I have never printed with them before but I'm going to give it a try. Edit: As of 21 Sep 24 the drum gear is printed in Carbon Fiber reinforced Nylon.

Thanks again for the design and inspiration. This was one of the first 3d printer projects I made a few years ago. I made the case a little taller at the top for an extended hopper and underneath the case spinner for a brass catcher. I also used a high torque drive motor to prevent jams with the extended hopper. Ive run thousands of rounds through mine since.

I too purchased this and am very pleased with the end results, works very well, i made mine 1 1/2" taller, wider and deeper, i also used laminated cedar plywood 1/2" then polyurethane inside and out, I had to make certain holes deeper as indicated by Jim in his instruction video, the on/off switch and the speed controller, i wish i could post i pic... Thanks Jim

Hello Richard. First off what an amazing design you have come up with and thanks for sharing it! I want to ask I have had a look at the build guide PDF, that btw very well made! but I'm unable to locate the 3D printed parts. I would not mind buying them, but as they would need to be shipped to EU I feel the cost after shipping and import tex would be crazy high would I be able to buy the files so I can print it my self?.

Hi there Big fan of this video, I am going to build one myself.. Question though, since I live in Denmark, buying and shipment + toll of the printed parts will run up. But I have a 3D printer myself. Will it be possible to obtain the STL for the printed parts, or is that not for sharing? BR Jesper Denmark.

Richard, purchased this last week and just finished getting everything installed. Really impressed with how well everything was laid out with the provided drawings. Great job and I appreciated the quick response to my question. The only thing I did different was I had an old steel road sign which I used and bent to the shape of your wood drawing. And since I wasn't dealing with the thickness of the wood I cut the full-size hole for the display, so it snapped into place. I strapped my dremel tool to a vertical bar and raised it the 1 3/8 inches and just rotated the pan to cut it. I debated on whether to build an induction annealer or to use the propane type but could build yours for half the cost of the induction one. Glad I came across your site.

Thank you Richard! I purchased one of these kit about a month ago. The design of the 3D printed parts is simple, thorough and neatly executed. It's clear that Richard had many hours sitting with CAD to work out all the fine details. I honestly can't believe that he makes any money at all to sell these at the price he does on Etsy; I'm guessing that he approaches this more as a donation to the shooting hobbies. I modified the case design just a bit to allow room to mount the speed controller still in its case and made my front plate from 1/8" aluminum, but other than that followed his very detailed instructions. My machine worked perfectly and delivered its first batch of very consistently annealed brass last week. Excellent job, thanks again!
