In the Yamaha user manual it states to use this bracket when trailering. It's literally labeled as a trailering bracket in the manual. And there is 100X more stress on the components of the transom assembly when the motor is at full throttle under way. Don't buy this useless product off the internet and don't listen to this guy

@nickkamper_Ай бұрын
it does stress it, and it will bend that little aluminum service bracket too.
@paulmonaco11482 ай бұрын
He is CORRECT. I never knew that it wasn't for towing? I BROKE mine 4-yrs ago, on my 90-HP Yamaha and it cost TOO much to repair and replace. I had a plastic block machined to support the motor. NO problems NOW, and I still HAVEN'T repaired the broken kickstand!

We put a block of wood between the motor and the mounting bracket. Its tied in with some cord so if it bounces the wood doesn't fall out.

So bouncing down the road puts more stress on the midsection than what my 300hp can put on it while pushing my 3500 pound boat through the saltwater?

Bro the actual fuck are you talking about? Driving around with it locked is not going to put any more stress on the internals than you would by using the engine, theyre not made of glass, thats like saying dont lower the vehicle service lift on to the service locks because you can stress the lift arms, ITS DESIGNED FOR THAT EXACT PURPOSE
@jasonhurd15093 ай бұрын
You absolutely transport on that bracket but after you continue to trim down until those two cylinders suck all the way in.

Used to use a 2×4 have seen many broken lower units from bouncing on road or boat ramp though it will stop your truck from going swimming

There is no need to check your nut or cotter pin regularly. Once you get the nut tightened and get your cotter pin in place, it's not going anywhere. That is the point of a cotter pin
