Suspect the stupidity reigns with you and your inability read nor have basic compression; like a 3 phase motor would not turn on DC, and why might a group of people would have set up some wiring, a switch, and have the camera ready; almost like they knew it had all ready failed. Oddly, they might even write that in the description and other commenta.

As test rigs go that kind of sucks , no overload cutout to the starter , and as soon as you hear the growl you know it's done ... unless you really like the stink of burned varnish in the shop.

It no longer exist,they tore it down by winter last year. It was that building next to the park they have put there towrd the north.

@@sharibressan-smith9502 I just confirmed it's down, here is the GPS; 41.670652,-85.956081 Pulled from Google maps after I drove by. I wish they would have just rehabbed it, it was quite well built. I don't know what address pulled up on the paper, but I can tell you the building to the south is occupied.

what the hell happened to that motor? what made the body live? internal short or something?

The motor was used above an oven which caused the ambient air tempature be above it's rating during full load. So it burnt the coating on the windings allowing it to become conductive. Once that happened it was basically a slightly resistive short untill we melted the rest out on the table.

My last job, we had 2 air compressors...a 480 volt, 50 KW Kaiser...trouble free, and a back-up with 30 HP @480 v...that motor failed due to the previous maintenance guy just pumping grease into the top fitting on the drive end bearing, without removing the grease 'drain plug' The motor windings were soaked with grease, never caught fire, but did short and enough to pop the breaker. I took the motor apart, time for a rewind...pretty expensive deal, I found a freshly serviced replacement on the E-bay for $750...cleaned, new bearings, but no rewind...

I like how everyone is suddenly electrical engineer in the comments Saying that this was unsafe because table is under voltage like it will kill on contact, I won't even explain myself because I'm too tired of internet gremlins acting like they have big brain moment
