26:25 Beavers get contaminated by going into a bad tide. You sent builders to complete the flood gates while the bad tide was in full swing. You also had a gatherer entering the river filled with bad tide to collect mangrove fruit. Lucky for the gatherer it didn't spend to long in the bad tide and isn't going to die like the builders. But now you have a ladder sending the new builders to their death to build a water wheel and levee. Use platforms or bridges, when building in bad tides, to save the beavers, it's worth the extra work.

15:12 I would add a lumberjack up here and have them chop down a strip. Then add a path over the strip to add levees to push a bad tide off the edge.

You really need to section off the river. The smaller the area the less it evaporates. Also you need to add other crops. Just one crop will be favoritised by the beavers, so give them options and one will build up in storage. While berries need to be used for the creation of new babies.

The dams by the water source should of been built on levees with levees off to the side to redirect bad tides off the map.

Well that is a little excessive for water....each beaver only consumes 2.25 water per day, so for 50 beavers to survive a 10 day drought you would only need a minimum of 1125 water...so maybe 3-4k if you're playing on hard mode

Sorry for the book! :P 15:00 you could have slapped a couple loggers way up there to chop tree's and it has a storage built in for logs, and costs nothing, and woulda been an automatic local pull source for logs ;) 24:30 the water isn't allowed to flow directly off the map there.. a couple explosives on the sides would give bad water a route away from the sources, to exit map :D You can even add 2 floodgates/ sleuths more, one each side so when you raise the group for bad water, you drop the 2 on the sides to allow the bad water through ;) and BTW.. you know you can make water wheels side by side to cross the entire waterway.. then pass power through buildings and piping :D no levee between needed, so you should have 6 wheels instead of 4 :D <whispers> I just slap platforms across the water so I'm side building the water wheels :D 49:30 if you're trying to get more power from wheels, you need to do it via water folding. Just sticking up levee's will only make the water upstream over flow ;) to water fold.. go upstream where the water drops a tile or more.. look at how many "faces" there are. a "face" is sides of blocks.. Lets say it's a 3 tile wide stream. That allows 2.2 water per waterfall, so being 3 tiles, it's 6.6... Now, if you say, slap a levee on that middle tile, extending it so all 3 aren't a straight line. You now have 5 "faces" the water falls off, upping the waterflow to 11 instead of 6.6 ;)

Hey I don't mind the long paragraphs so long as you keep putting the timestamps.....my brain somehow instinctively knows to look for the numbers. As for the water wheels...I only plan on them being the primary power source until I can get the metal for the engines, then I'll either seal the badwater source off with an extractor or use the wheels as a backup power source
@bubbles69138
@bubbles69138 12 күн бұрын
@@xxLEGIONxxGaming Hmmm... Thats an odd route.. That's gonna use up alot of resources. I usually build a cap around water sources and cover with impermiable flooring to seal it, so it's pressurized, then have the good water push into main water source that feeds the map.. any surplus overflowing into the top of the bad water line.. then I run the bad water back and forth along a side of the map with multiple layers of water wheels.. tends to give a terawatt+ of power production :D
@xxLEGIONxxGaming
@xxLEGIONxxGaming 12 күн бұрын
On this map that seems like it'd require a buttload of dynamite to do, but there's a ways to go before I even need to really think about what to do with that badwater source, though it is the only one on the map.

Consider building another farmer's hut, especially if you're not going to touch the higher tier foodstuffs for a while. Its OK to rely on kohlrabis, berries and mangrove as long as you throw enough beavers at it.

14:00 .......... Why?? lol ... 27:55 Yes.. I made the timestamp after you realized.. PSST! Don't forget to pump water! ;) speaking of water... 12 levy's in a dried up area making a 3x3 square to dump water in, far from any water to contaminate it.. Gives you a never worry about contamination zone that you can plant a ton of oaks and harvest forever.. Helps for main contaminations where your main tree source dies ;) 37:00 uhh... interesting method for your powered buildings and wheels... :D ... 38:19 only powered buildings, and other specific buildings pass power.. a box with wood in it, I wouldn't think would pass through :D ... 42:03 what I usually do for inventors... I'll set one to second to lowest work priority, then I set the rest to the lowest. Reasoning.. Things like production you turn on and off completely.. Things like building, hauling <most things for long distance should be doing haulers, short runs the building workers> are essential, but you basically "automate" them.. Science you need yes, and 1 working alot works fine unless in a hurry.. The rest being on lowest priority means, they'll only invent, AFTER all maintenance things for everyone to live are satisfied :D <and when I'm not building, I just shut those off too> ... 44:40 funny this timestamp.. cuz my brain is ERROR 404 atm... you coulda had the 2 buildings side by side, then chained the 3 wheels side by side, adding 4th if needed.. no wheel of pain needed lol ... I love that forehead slap.. its one of my fav childhood movies :D ... 51:50 this is where over complication strikes lol :D ... I'm loving watching you struggle.. Not haha laugh at you, but seeing you think it out and the solutions you come up with :D Some are interesting :D You're doing great, don't let anyone say you aren't :D You'll perfect things in no time! :D

It's hard to watch your gaming style. You should use beavers more effectively. You didn't need to go to the source to meet the first bad wave. There is a bad tide waiting to open right next to your base. If you changed the direction of the buildings you electrified and built them adjacent to each other. You wouldn't need to make as many power lines. Effective use is important. But don't worry, I see you are doing your best.

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately I didn't see it until after I recorded episode 2 (going up tomorrow), so I'm not sure if the camera movement is better, but I will keep it in mind for episode 3. But do take a look at episode 2 and let me know. As for the mods I use, I did flash the mods on screen back in season 1 when they came up, I figured that might get too repetitive season after season so I decided against it. But seeing as there is interest in the mods again I'll work on putting together a master list with the links to the steam page and put a link to the list in the description for all the videos for Timberborn moving forward. Thanks again.

42:00 btw building a water wheel with a land block right after it <down stream> REALLY lowers it's power output.. Yeah I see what you mean (thanks for the timecode too btw), I recorded episode 2 before I saw this so I kinda already doubled down on it, though I believe I had mentioned it (I definitely mention it in episode 2) that that whole setup is just temporary and will be gone when I have picked a better place for all the industry and it's all centralized in one place. And video length, season one was mostly 90-120 minute videos which I got absolutely exhausted with editing half way through (I edit my own videos at the moment). The very first video on the channel only went up only 5 months ago, so I'm still trying to fine tune the video length and balance between packing gameplay into each episode and keeping it a length that won't drive me crazy editing it. Though I am glad people are finally engaging and leaving comments for me to reply to, so...thanks again :)
